Rory McIlroy’s Incredible Eagle At The 2026 Amgen Irish Open
Rory McIlroy headlines a star-studded field packed with Major winners, Ryder Cup stars, past champions and multiple 2026 winners, setting the stage for one of the strongest line ups in recent Irish Open history. The World Number Two and defending champion is joined by six of his Ryder Cup team-mates from Bethpage, with fellow former champions Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry and Rasmus Højgaard adding further quality alongside Adrian Meronk, John Catlin, Padraig Harrington, Ross Fisher and Sergio Garcia. McIlroy and Rahm both have the opportunity to join the exclusive group of three-time Irish Open champions, while Lowry, Højgaard, Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Sepp Straka, Captain Luke Donald and Vice-Captain Francesco Molinari all tee it up at Doonbeg. Race to Dubai Rankings leader Patrick Reed is joined by fellow multiple 2026 winners Jayden Schaper, Casey Jarvis and Eugenio Chacarra, while Alex Fitzpatrick returns to the regular DP World Tour following his Hero Indian Open triumph. Multiple Major Champion Brooks Koepka also features, as does last year’s runner-up Joakim Lagergren, who arrives in form after a top-ten finish at the Husqvarna British Masters.

I turned on the Golf Channel this morning at 8:30 am to watch round 2 of the 2026 IRISH OPEN . But it was not on . Instead The Sloheim Cup was on . The Golf Channel continued its coverage of the Sloheim Cup until 1:30 pm . Then the Golf Channel picked up the coverage of the IRISH OPEN a little after 1:30 pm . By this time the 2nd round was allmost over . Thanks Golf Channel .
