In the third round of the 2026 TOUR Championship, Rory McIlroy shoots a 7-under 63 to get to 10-under par overall, sitting T7 on the leaderboard heading into Sunday.

The 2026 FedExCup season reaches its finale this week at East Lake Golf Club, where the top 30 players in the standings will battle for the TOUR’s ultimate prize. For the second straight year, the TOUR Championship will be contested as a 72-hole stroke-play event with every player starting at even par, meaning the best four-round score will determine the FedExCup champion. Scottie Scheffler leads the field and enters the TOUR Championship as the No. 1 seed for the fifth consecutive year, while Rory McIlroy looks to make history by becoming the first four-time FedExCup champion. Wyndham Clark arrives at No. 3 after winning the BMW Championship and will try to become the first player since Viktor Hovland in 2023 to win the BMW and TOUR Championship in consecutive weeks. Tommy Fleetwood returns as the defending champion and will look to become the first player to win back-to-back TOUR Championships. Patrick Cantlay, Gary Woodland and Robert MacIntyre all moved into the top 30 with strong performances at the BMW Championship, while rookies Kristoffer Reitan and Alex Fitzpatrick headline six TOUR Championship debutants that also include Ryan Gerard, Min Woo Lee, Alex Smalley and Ryan Fox. With Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland making their seventh straight appearances and McIlroy his ninth in a row, East Lake once again brings together the game’s elite. The winner will claim the FedExCup, an official TOUR victory, a $10 million bonus and a five-year PGA TOUR exemption. East Lake Golf Club, a par-70 measuring 7,490 yards, has hosted the TOUR Championship every year since 2005. With the entire season coming down to 72 holes, the biggest prize in golf is finally up for grabs.

  6. Ok…. This chip shot out of the sand by Rory at 1:32ish, is nothing short of God tier. He basically had to visualize throwing the club THROUGH the ground under the ball to make that work, and somehow it worked

  8. Why are the commentators flipping out about an straightforward bunker shot from a perfect lie? Sure, the result is 9/10 even for a pro, but it's far from unbelievable, more like, expected a fair bit of the time.

    When he's in the mood he's ridiculous. Was unlucky on 18th and still recovered. If someone could light a fire under him in January next year, that would be great. He should be aiming for 40 PGAT wins and a couple more majors. Not to mention the next Ryder Cup, which will be huge!

  15. He’s 5 shots behind going into the final round just like last week’s BMW championship. Don’t think that he’ll win.
