  1. I agree with the stroke penalty, accident or on purpose, however, I don't get all the hate from the league. Like stated, he is drawing a ton of attention to the sport and is making them money. The internet hate, ofc, the internet is full of voiceless trolls trying to be heard. Take the strokes, lose your cash winnings, come back stronger for the next one, ignore the haters. Bryson deserves some love for the effort he has put into changing, improving and including us for the ride. This wasn't a great look but move on and bury it.

  2. Watch the TAPE! He clearly stomps down the fescue. It's self inflicting. How is it hate? It's the penalty area, treated as such.

  3. The big mistake was the R&A dealing with it 3 hours after the fact. Then Rory blaming Bryson for the delay ?
There is a rules official with every group they should have dealt with it.
Jon Rahm threw his club with such force he damaged the playing surface and he could have injured someone..he gets a warning ?

  4. Fundamentally this is a British/European v American thing. Golf is a self-policing game and BDs actions fly in the face of our sense of fair play. This contrasts with the US win at all costs mindset. I don't say that one is right and one is not, each has it's place, but that's why we see these actions. I would also add that the biggest crowds/cheers at Birkdale on the Friday when I was there were for a 45 year old Justin Rose and a 63 year old Australian commentator, not BD.

  5. My twin 16 year old grandsons are golf nuts, playing golf, they don’t watch tournaments and they don’t know a lot about the PGA or LIV players but they know all the YouTube golfers and watch them, they tell me their friends are the same

  6. Utter nonsense, the hate isn't just deserved, it's richly deserved. Pretty obvious for anyone unbiased that knows the game it was a blatant penalty….which makes the man-baby routine of having a fit while with the officials even more absurd. Then going on to literally threaten to leave? Go ahead ya big a$$ baby…who cares? Then worst of all, to say he's going to call the Con N Chief, wow that's a new low, what a snake. Hard to imagine wondering why all the hate, it there's smoke…..

  7. Praised your gutsy takes in the past and loved Bryson's mad scientist entertainment value and simple but clear tips for am golfers, but the Open incident seemed as clear cut as Reed in the bunker: I don't buy for a second that he wasn't trying to create a clear path for his back swing.

  8. He’s a great golfer to watch, and I wish he’d settle with the tour. He made an arse of himself here. And I say that not believing he said he’d call Trump- that sounds like bollocks to me.

  9. This is an awful take on so many different subjects but I'll mention one. People love watching villains too. Bryson the villian brings in more viewers than Bryson the nobody.

  10. Outside of majors, the PGA tour gets about 2M viewers for an average tournament. BDC gets 2-3M views for every you tube video he puts out. PGA tour no likey…

  11. How many times has Rory thrown a club without penalty. Also, the Scotty ruling was terrible. Should have gone back to the previous position.

  12. I don't see it as hate but people questioning Bryson's behaviour after being correctly penalized. To me he brought the game into disrepute holding the R&A to ransom whether he would compete on Saturday.

  13. He cheated and got caught . He then berated the referees . He then threatened not to play ensuring that the draw didn’t go out until 11 pm . He then wanted to call Trump . What an infantile prick .

  14. If Bryson hadnt been there, i still would off watched the four days. Nothing to do with LIV. Saying it wouldnt be the same or as good, is nonsense. Ive watch plenty of games without him and they have been great. Honestly any of the big names missing (Scotty missed the cut a while back) can still make for good golf. And i love it that some of the lesser know players get to shine.

  15. In defence of Bryson, I think he was within his rights to be annoyed at Faldo's comments. Sometimes he does attack too much, but he does understand the risks and takes it well enough when he makes mistakes.

  16. Usually, im.on board with your takes, but anyone who has taken part in any level of sport, knows that the first , the FIRST ,thing you learn is to repsect the decision of the Ref, the Ump or any other person enforcing the rules by which you play. Sometimes you get tough breaks. Whether the ruling was fair or not is immeterial. What is important is how you react to it. Threatning to not play, holding the tiurnemnt hostage and then reportedly going to call POTUS cause you were given a bad ruling smacks of entitlement and goes against all ethos of taking part in sports. No better than Argentinna were after they lost the World Cup. And moreover, for s sport famed for its self policing, this was conduct unbecoing of a sportsman who is reportedly a student of the game.

  17. Honestly Bryson didn't get enough hate. Ive been a recurring viewer of the channel and I don't know if I'll keep watching after this. You're pretending to not understand the hate, but you won't bring up the elephant in the room. The man child called Trump to try and mafioso the officials. Dude, stop.

  18. He threatened to call his dad on the game. What happens to kids when they call their dad if things don't go their way hmmm?
Take a guess. What happens monday at school after you rat your buddies out on your dad after a play weekend?
