Justin Thomas Plays “Pissed Off” and Charges at the PGA Championship

Justin Thomas reacts after a huge final-round charge at the 2026 PGA Championship, putting himself in the clubhouse with a chance at Aronimink.

Thomas admits he left the course on Saturday “sour” and “pissed off” after fighting hard but feeling disappointed with his round. Instead of letting that frustration linger, he practiced longer than usual, reset his mindset and brought that fire into Sunday.

He says his wife Jill gave him the advice to use that anger, something he has done successfully in Ryder Cups before. Thomas explains that he did not look at the leaderboard and simply tried to shoot as low as possible.

He also breaks down his third shot and putt on 18, the challenge of calming down after an adrenaline-filled tee shot, and why the lack of 25 mph wind finally made Aronimink feel more gettable.

And he jokes about how not to handle being clubhouse leader, recalling a previous tournament in Hartford when he had several beers at lunch and then suddenly realized he might be in a playoff.
