The Riviera Country Club will once again play host to the PGA TOUR’s best as The Genesis Invitational tees off this week. The Genesis Invitational is the first of three player-hosted invitationals (along with the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament presented by Workday). Tiger Woods is the host this week but will also be in the field. This will be his first start since the Masters Tournament in 2023 – where he withdrew after the third round. Last season’s Genesis Invitational was his last full four-round effort on the PGA TOUR before injury. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to action after a strong finish in last week’s WM Phoenix Open. He claimed T3 in his attempt to become the first player to three-peat on the PGA TOUR since Steve Stricker in 2009-11. Scheffler finished 12th at The Genesis last season. Rory McIlroy is set to make just his second TOUR start in 2024 after a T66 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This will be McIlroy’s eighth start at Riviera. He finished 29th last season and claimed a career-best of fourth at Riviera in 2019. Others to look out for are Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele.

left side is messed up. Thats why he's hitting fades, He can't rotate. All that force is going to go into his hip and back. He's done. The only way he'll ever play on the weekends is in no-cut tournaments. Notice how he's got the excuses going already.

Looks and sounds like there is a lot physical prep, and rehab following.. amazing what he's prepared to go through
If only his health was good and not physically compromised..he would still be winning tournaments..sad to see how he is struggling..he still has it in him..just needs a bionic back..
He's still one of the best in the world, but what makes me concerned is that he seems ok with being near the very bottom of the board. Hopefully it's just part of the process, but I'd rather have the Tiger that expects to win every tournament he enters.

If he would have been even par on the par 4's today, he would be right in the thick of it.
He said his back went out for a second during the hozzle shot. He needs to stretch more and drink more water. First time back in a year, I'd say he is off to a fine start. I hope he keeps his body happy. Only Tiger can beat Tiger.

he is a good average golfer now. His best days are over. Hes embarrassing himself. Hes not the dominate player he once was. He wont win a major ever again. Pack it in.

He can win with this version of his swing. He needs to play once a month and get sharp. Scoring takes reps. If he plays consistently enough, on a diabolical set up where 8 under wins, he can still get a major or two.

Too bad he let his tallywacker and golf swing rebuild (x4) derail his golfing career. HE Could have been the best golfer to walk planet earth but got a little too selfish. Still a solid golfer no doubt.

Tiger just ride in a cart, guys breaking his body to just walk. No one is ever gonna judge a guy who has had how many surgeries and needs countless hours of pysio to play 72 holes. Guys proved himself, he can ride a cart like Trump on the greens even.

I feel lucky I've been able to play golf in Tiger's era last 25 year. He has class.
My greatest achievement in golf is that I've hit balls to the same water hazard from same yardage as Tiger. This is happened in the Le Golf National golf course at 13. However there is a bit difference. Tiger hit once I hit six times. He was in the Ryder Cup team I wasn't.
Chances of him winning another trophy are slim to none but it's always nice to see the greatest golfer back on track 🙂
