タイガー・ウッズの回転は想像よりずっと早く止まる(新データ)
For decades, golfers have been told to rotate harder through impact.
But new data shows that’s not what elite players actually do.
When we analyzed Tiger Woods’ swing frame by frame, we found something shocking:
He stops adding rotation speed halfway down.
That early stop is what allows the club to whip past the body — creating speed without effort.
We’ve built a new GOATCode training view that shows:
exactly when rotation is added
exactly when it stops
and how that affects your swing
GOATY now coaches this in real time — with live visual feedback.
If you’ve ever felt like “trying harder” made your swing worse… this is why.

I’m going to have to get to work on this right away. I note that, just like most instructional video. Say, he has the ball position just inside the left heel. Oh wait, no he doesn’t. And importantly, he really compresses the ball. He really Achieves a tremendous amount of forward shaft lean and His swing bottoms out well in front of the ball and he takes a large divot. Oh wait.
Excellent video, I have been arguing with YouTube "pros" for years over this. Many say this is flipping, you have to drive hips and shoulders hard into the follow through (after the ball is gone!). I just call it natural release.
Some young, top pros do drive hard with hips and shoulders and pay with back/knee problems in their early 20s (Zalatoris, Cantlay, Morikawa, Woods old swing) but this is not for average players.
This makes total sense since the hands reach their max speed on the downswing around waist height or around 22” before impact so that the energy transfers to the head of the club at impact…to do that your upper body needs to slow (or transfer its energy) earlier than that 22” mark…love it!
One thing I noticed in this was that just before club parallel in the downswing his right shoulder stayed almost in place (and his left shoulder raised significantly!)
Yep facts. That is why a lot of amateurs hit the ball further when they take an easier swing because the club is releasing.
What's so incredible is, this above is Tiger nowhere near his best either!! Wonder, what's different from 1999-2002, versus above, and how GOATY would show improvements for Tiger now vs then? 🤔
