ツアーレベルの安定性を実現するスプリットハンドドリル!(ロリー・マキロイ vs ギャビン – スイング分析)
Do you ever have those days where no matter what you do, you simply cannot find the center of the club face and wonder why it feels like you’ve just swung a frying pan instead of a driver? Well, what if I told you the fix isn’t what you think it is? This is Gavin. Solid setup, but when we stack his motion against Rory Moy, the difference shows everything. Also, make sure you stick around to the end as I’ll be providing one simple drill that even Rory himself frequently uses to sync up his swing to consistently smash that sweet spot, which should fix Gavin’s issue for good. And you watching this if you’re having trouble finding center of the club face as well. Okay, let’s break this down. Gavin’s setup and takeaway. Great. Hands and arms move with the body perfectly synced from P1 to P2. But here’s the turning point. At P2, the club head drifts under the swing plane instead of staying in line with the hands. That means the shaft’s already out of position. And because it’s under the plane here, he then lifts it up and over the line as he reaches the top of the back swing. He’s also a touch late hinging the wrist. Doesn’t get that full 90° wrist hinge until just before the top. That delay cost some sequencing and consistency. Then comes the key part, transitioning into the down swing. Watch Rory as he shallows the club. He sits into his legs and drops into that powerful slot. Gavin though goes in the opposite direction. He early extends, hips push forward, chest rises, and the club stays on top of the plane. The result, his hands at impact are 6 to 8 in forward from where they started. Combine that with the steep path, and you have heel contact every time. All right, here’s the fix. The Rory split-handed drill, and it’s ridiculously simple. Grip the club split-handed. Take it to the top of your back swing. Pump the club down three times. Really feeling it shallow behind you. Next, reset back to normal stance, normal grip, but take one slow practice swing. Keep that same prior swing feel in mind. Now, again, back to the split-handed grip because we really want to ingrain that feeling. Take it back to the top. Pump down three more times. Then bring it back to your normal grip with your normal setup. Only this time, full swing. Keep that feel of the split-handed grip in mind. Repeat this process until it’s fully ingrained and it becomes your new swing. That sequence trains your body to slot the club naturally without you having to think about it mid swing. So try that out and you’ll start finding the center of the face way more often. That is how you turn heel strikes into center strikes and hopefully start bombing it like Roy Maroy. Well, that’s the dream. If you found this video or the drill provided helpful, then be sure to hit that like button and subscribe to the channel.
