Tiger Woods shares his advice for playing out of a buried lie 👀

We have 145 yards out here and it’s so interesting how different Bermuda can be. I had a flyer lie couple inches away from it. Now I’ve got a ball that’s buried in the rough. I’ve got so much grass between the club head and the ball in this lie. Even though I’ve have 145 yards out in the last shot I was talking about taking a little stuff off of it here. I can’t get to the green. Ball’s sitting so far down that I can’t physically have enough speed to get itund maybe 120 yards if I if I get lucky. I have a bunker here between myself and the hole. So, the spot I’m looking at with this lie is where’s my miss going to be? Right’s dead. I have no angle. So, I’m going to play short left. you know, the lie like this. Even though I have 145 yards out, which would normally be an easy nine iron or wedge here, I’m just playing short left of the green, trusting my short game to get up and down and move on. Well, with a lot like this, I can’t get to the back of the golf ball. So, I’m just going to hit a little bit further behind it. I’m just going to put a lot of speed into it and hopefully steer it more towards the left. Uh, I’ve always had really tight hands on a golf club, so that doesn’t change. With a lot like this, yes, I will get a little bit steeper on it. The ball will be a little further back. And I’m just hitting straight down top of it and just trying to hopefully get it up towards the left side so I can use my short game. So, I’m just play short left. I’m play the ball a little further back in my stance. I’m going hit down on it and just try and kind of pop it up more towards the left side. Not even worried about going at the flag. Just trying to leave myself a nice little chip shot and move on. There we go.

  1. The pros never play on this type of rough. They bomb their drives with no regard for the rough. This type of rough needs to come back to take the pros down a notch. I have it in my yard and when it is not cut I have the same problems getting the club through.

  2. I could have used this video last week before I played a three day tournament on courses with Bermuda grass.

  3. I use a reverse swing. Stand backwards and chop down like an axe with the toe down gripping very hard. Be careful you don't hit your leg! This lesson is free Tiger.

  4. How are 2 of the greatest athletes of all time, Jordan and Tiger. Simultaneously be two of the worst dressers I’ve ever seen? Is that a zipper pocket on those cargo shorts tiger?

  5. If he had this shot in the late 90s/early 2000s he would have hit a sandwedge out of that to 10 feet.

  6. As a 15 handicap In my head I’d still believe I can make that green and hack a 9 iron and most likely end up in the trap in more trouble

  7. I feel like in a tournament he’s going for the green. Why wouldn’t he try to chunk and run an 8 or 7 iron if 9 won’t get there?

  8. Just hearing him say “easy 9 iron or a wedge” is nice to hear. Hes not some hero with a gap wedge swinging out of his shoes
