THE DAY AFTER POD: Scott and Adam talk the massive ALCS win and the Jays heading to the World Series

Hello and welcome to the walk-off everybody. I’m Scott. Welcome to the World Series for the World Series bound Toronto Blue Jays. Come on. So happy to have our good old buddy Adam Mack. Of course, he gets on board once the team goes to the World Series. Adam, holy [ __ ] man. What a game last night. Yeah, it uh if I could be completely honest, I didn’t even get to watch it. But uh my kid had hockey. Yeah. So I got to watch the first like three innings of the game. Yeah. And then had to go to the hockey rink. So left the house. It was 2-1 for the bad guys. Then I had to sit through the worst scheduled parents meeting of all time and watch the Mariners extend their lead to 3-1. And then I was in the score clock running the DJ booth and the the time sheet and stuff. And uh with my dad next to me and we were just hitting refresh on the game day website or whatever on llb.com and uh bad reception in there too, right? So it’s we’re not getting like live pitchby pitch updates. And then uh of course we just like suddenly see that it’s 4-3 Blue Jays and we’re like, “Oh my god.” So we’re like flipping out in the middle of this freaking penalty box area at the ring. So I did go home and not only watch uh Jay’s in 30, but I watched the full every single pitch as soon as I got over even though I knew what happened. I was like, “Let’s let’s see how Kevin Gossman does this. Let’s see how Chris Bass does live and then watched every highlight, every piece of content. I was up, you know, like I I wound up I wound up going to bed at like 11 because I was tired and then just like tossed and turned until I got back on my phone. It was just like every little piece of content. This is fantastic. Yeah, buddy. It’s just so great. This is normally mailbag and we are going to get to a few here, but the truth is we’re just going to talk the Toronto Blue Jays here because how often does this team go to the World Series? I mean, there are many, many people who have never even seen this scene in the World Series. I have because I’m old, but I mean, there is a a whole generation of fandom here that this is all brand new to. Yeah, it’s pretty fantastic. It’s pretty fantastic, man. Let’s talk uh Well, I mean, the George Springer home run was great place to start. Yeah. I mean, this is a this is a guy that we griped on, I think, for the entirety of our podcast basically for, you know, like when we first signed him, it was a great first season and then there was a lot of apologies being made of like, well, he’s injured, but the whole reason we got him was for his playoff experience. And then after year after year of like, well, we’re not even getting to the playoffs, so we’re not benefiting from the one thing we really wanted from George. So, for him to cap off that ALCS and just kind of like earn every dollar in that contract that we’ve been truly uh frustrated with for five years. It’s Yeah, it’s it’s fantastic. every down springer year, every questioning the front office on why they signed him, everything like this made it 100% worth it. World Series bound. This this guy too. Like you can tell how much this meant. like that. There’s something special about teams that go to the World Series and you can feel it with this Toronto Blue Jays squad that I’ve never seen a team so invested in each other, you know, like even listening to Chris Basset in the in the postgame interview talk about how the wives are all hanging out and the kids are hanging out and it’s such a familyorientated organization, which may have may have not been quite the attraction it is now 30 years ago. But props to this organization for fostering that, for making that such a a big part of what happens when players come to this team. And I think it’s going to be really good in free agency, right? Like it’s getting out there that the Toronto Blue Jays, it’s a good place to have your family. Yeah, it’s top to bottom. Like all I could think was how special this team felt. Like after we beat the Yankees, it did feel like it this was like a different kind of year, you know, and after that uh watching that season where we got hot in September and then missed the playoffs by one game on the final day, right? Mhm. and how heartbreaking that was and just feeling like that also could have been our year of like, man, if we hadn’t just snuck in, you know, we were firing on all cylinders, everyone was healthy, and then to miss it and to be the like the hottest team in baseball and then miss the playoffs by one game on the final day. So, the way we played against the Yankees just started to feel like, okay, everything’s lining up, the talent’s there, and Vlad’s as hot as he could ever be. You know, ALCS MVP, and I know that there were some people who felt like it should have been Springer. I don’t think it matters. Uh, I think George thought it was going to be George. Yeah, I think so, too. But honestly, I mean, what a series by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Yeah. Like George obviously was MVP of game seven. Yes. Right. But you see this in the playoffs a lot where you know like someone has a hat-tick in the deciding game of the Stanley Cup finals. Okay. But you know the other guy had 15 goals in the other six games. So you know even though he was pointless tonight he was still whatever. Now, that’s not to say George didn’t do anything else this series. I think he had still had three home runs this series. Um, but when the award was being presented, that little phrase, you know, like did it all or I don’t know how exactly the presenter described it, but as soon as he said it before he said Vlatt’s name, it was something about like contributed all over the field or whatever. I was like, “Oh yeah, George was DH this whole time and on one leg.” Which kind of adds to his legend, right? Is the fact that Yeah. from like an emotional cool story factor, it’s incredible. Um, but also like, yeah, when you’re going MVP and you go, “Well, Vlatty also played really [ __ ] spectacular defense.” Did he ever? I mean, that game six, he literally single-handedly bailed Trey Savage out a couple of times with some incredible double plays. I mean, the guy was just lights out the whole series. Yeah. So, happy for him. Uh, tough to argue that he didn’t deserve it. I mean, other than like we’re still on that emotional high of Springer’s three-run shot 40 minutes earlier, so it’s easy to be like this guy. Vlatty was [ __ ] unreal. He truly um Trey Savage, is he going to start game one of the World Series? Is it a great question? I really don’t know. And I mean we they are go Friday so there is a little bit of rest and maybe if it is Gman what they I mean by the way hero and Kevin Gosman and Chris Basset starters coming out of the pen shutting things down after both Hoffman and Varlin went two innings each in game six. Right. So like they were I mean I even had uh the boys from the the Mariners walk off there. Juan and Jordy, both of them texting me being like, “Is Varlin’s arm?” Like, “What the hell? How are they putting him back out there again?” Like, “What?” And I mean, I he did give up a dinger, but Varand a little bit of an unsung hero, too. I mean, the amount of of of innings he pitched he got out of just unreal. So, Gosman Gosman pitched game five. Yeah. And then threw an inning last night. And as I think Dan and Buck both commented on, it would have been his throw day, you know, like they do throw bullpen sessions or whatever between their their start. So like maybe you could higher intensity. Yeah, a little different intensity for sure. Um but maybe he is ready to go. So yeah, like maybe he’s ready for game one, but I also think I mean it’s it’s crazy to think you’re starting the rookie in game one of the World Series, but it’s not much more crazier than thinking he’s starting game two of the World Series. I think either way they want him starting at home and like the way it’s lining up that’s he’s either one or two, right? But maybe you flip-flop I don’t know. I guess if you flip-flop it and Y Savage pitches game one, that puts him in line for game five, which would be in LA. And they don’t really want him pitching on the road, right? Like I think there is a little bit of that protection and having him pitch only in Toronto and having the support rather than the opposing crowd like for what however much of a factor that is. And he clearly rises to the occasion. So I’m I’m talking myself out of him being the game one. actually have no doubt Kevin Gosman will be ready to go for game one. I really believe that. And I think you would need to literally drag him away with with, you know, a win and like getting everybody, you know, like there’s no way Kevin Gosman’s given up game one. That’s true. Yeah, you’re right. Yeah. You know, like what’s what’s two more games? Like try and convince Kevin Gosman he doesn’t have two more games in him in this season. He does. Yeah. Well, I hope he’s ready. I hope he uh shows up and balls out. And I hope these bats stay hot, man. Uh Bobette, Bobette, talk about a question mark variable in this whole thing. Um so the quote was he said, “I’m ready to go.” Yeah. His words, not mine. Yeah. Now my question to you though like when like he was just like yeah I’m in like no matter what I’m there. So I mean pump them full of whatever drugs you got to pump them full of right like Yeah. Um how do you feel about that Adam? It’s been since September 4th. Man I tossed and turned on this all night. Like uh there was a a point during the pregame I was watching with my dad and I had to kind of bite my tongue cuz I didn’t want to jinx it, right? Like okay, we got to win this game first. Mhm. But if we do, how do you fit him in? I mean, I guess I prefer Bob Bashette to IKF, right? Is he better defensively than I? No. So an IKF is playing second. Bo’s not going to play second. So B’s playing short. This is where I go. I don’t know, man. Mhm. Pinch hit is kind of what it ultimately that’s spoiler alert. That’s where this rant is going for me is Boba off the bench in a pinch hit situation cuz I maybe maybe Springer goes to the outfield and Bo DH’s. Yeah. Well, then who you taking out of the outfield? Yeah, drop your comments, YouTube, if you have thoughts on this. Where does Bobette fit into this? And are you prepared to throw him into the fire? Are you prepared to, after six weeks of not playing baseball, put him at shortstop in the most important game of the year? I am not sure, but um this organization’s done such a good job of knowing their players. Whatever they decide, I mean, obviously I’m on board with at this point. I just this team is firing on all cylinders and I don’t know. I mean, he’s a phenomenal hitter and I’m sure his bat is going to be ready to go. Mhm. Still worried about the legs running the bases. Yeah. And like I’m I’m not questioning his willingness to make the injury worse and push himself. Mhm. But, you know, like we watched it in the uh VAR show going first to third last night. Yeah. I think it was in the eighth inning. Didn’t end up scoring, I don’t think. No. But could Bo do that? That’s what I mean. Like there there’s just going to be situations where there’s an opportunity to like steal a run going like scoring from second on a play that is close, right? The truth is is we don’t know where his legs are at. And you know what? Honestly, if his legs are But I know where his glove and his arm is at. So this is this is the thing. Maybe he’s on this like I think he’s on the World Series roster no matter what. But I’m starting what you’re saying where I don’t know if he’s going to play shortstop. Like if if you can’t round the like I think as long as he can somewhat round the bases, he’s going to get his opportunities to hit. Yeah. But I I I can’t see a world where if he can’t there’s so much range and quick motion at shortstop there like Well, I mean we talked about it uh six minutes ago with Yavage and bases loaded inning ending double plays back to back followed by another one and like I I just think that the not that he’s a bad defender and his defense has come along ways since where it was. But he’s not a good defender. Let’s put he’s not he’s not a great defender. Maybe maybe good. If absolutely full health, I could say he’s a good defender, but Bo at like 80%. Yeah. I go, okay, well, maybe he’s an average defender. And now it’s just the difference between like getting out of that jam and not right. And I think there’s just going to be more opportunities for get out of a jam double plays than there is difference making hitting opportunities that we’re not already getting from like Ernie Clement and like it’s that I’m not saying anything nobody knows this isn’t groundbreaking news. Everybody’s contributing on this team. That’s been our calling card all year is the 8 n guys turning it over. It’s how they got to the World Series without Boba. It’s mind. It would have been so easy for this team to use that as an excuse, right? To to maybe not show up a game or two and be like, well, the cog of our offensive had removed. So, that’s where I go. Okay, defensively it just is going to be a step down. Mhm. And offensively, is it an improvement? like who who are you taking out? Who who’s the guy that’s hitting 175 that you go, “Oh, yeah, that’s an obvious spot for B to take, right?” Like, nobody is. Mhm. For for me, like, so I don’t know. I love Bo to death. But I think maybe we use him in a Chris Basset sort of fashion of like, hey, eighth inning, IKF’s coming out. Yeah. Bashett’s going in. We just need a double here. Like, we’re down a run. Yeah, we just need a double and then we’ll figure it out in the ninth or you know whatever, right? Like I know that IKF has taken a lot of heat for being in the lineup at times from certain people, but my goodness did he ever show up last night. I mean, just an absolutely massive at bat there to get on base. Uh he was so good defensively. I know he made an error earlier in the series that people like to point at, but honestly up and down this lineup contributions guys you probably didn’t expect to see it at the at the top of that list is is our our dog all season. Ernie, he is just Where would this team be without Ernie Clement? Especially in the playoffs when they needed him most. They needed someone to step up and do what Bo Bashette could do with the bat. And there was Ernie, our $800,000 man. Well, but this is where it comes back to like this team is just magical and like it feels like special is like you do in order to win a World Series and we do need four more wins to do that. But you go, you can’t just be good, you’ve got to be good and hot. Mhm. And then all of the stuff about, you know, like I’ve been critical of Ernie all season long, right? Like going into April and like looking at the way this roster was, he seemed like the weakness him and Davis Schneider, like there was just like a bunch of guys where you go, we don’t really have a third baseman, right? And then you know like of course every World Series champion has a small guy that steps up but all my point has ever been is like you can’t bank on those. Like you for sure need them. You need your stars to be great. Mhm. You need the cheap guys to overachieve and then you need to stay healthy and and blah blah blah. So, it’s like we talked Trey Savage countless times this summer of like maybe maybe he’s a call up by the end of the year, you know, like maybe he’s pitching for, you know, cuz well, who’s our number five, right? Bow and Francis went back and forth on like, well, if he doesn’t work out like we’re kind of [ __ ] here. Mhm. So with Ern Dog stepping up and just like being like I don’t know what to say about Ernie. He’s been nothing short of awe inspiring. Yeah. And then to have Trey Savage step in and just look the part of like who we all daydreamed Alec Manoa might turn into. Yeah. Right. Like Alec Manoa, I can [ __ ] [ __ ] on him now. He’s not a Blue Jay anymore. I think he’s a Brave actually. Yeah, but like even when he was putting up his Sai Young contention season, it was like, oh yeah, but he doesn’t necessarily show up in the big games, right? It was like All-Star games, uh, big games against the Yang. like there was just like the playoff appearance we did have just like it started to become that like okay maybe he can’t rise to that occasion and just with your Savage just being thrown into it you go oh [ __ ] like this dude is rising to the occasion like he was handled so well by this organization it is how they managed his innings how he still has I don’t know if it’s brilliance or luck like if they just thread in a needle blindly and it worked out a little of both. I think like there’s no way. There’s no way this was written up on the whiteboard in March of like here’s how we’re going to do it. 11 starts here and then five here and like but the fact that come July when he was in double A they start they obviously by then started to be like okay this could be a weapon. Yeah. And I don’t think they envisioned it in the starting rotation to start with Adam. Honestly, man, I really think that they thought they might be able to weaponize out of the bullpen and just Well, and like that’s again where this comes back to like this team feels special. This feels like the Cinderella story and hopefully we don’t strike Midnight before it’s time. Yeah. But like even just that fact that he is able to do this and not having really pitched in the regular season being like an extra bonus because nobody’s seen him before. Mhm. Right. and how like that just makes his stuff with his like high arm angle just that much more like it’s already kind of a unique delivery and the talent and the the pitch location and control is all there. Um but then you go most guys also haven’t seen him because he didn’t pitch all year. He you know they haven’t faced him three times in their career already so they don’t really know like how to do it. That’s all working to his favor and you just go man stars are sure lining up here. They’re sure lining up, man. This has been a fun fun October. Sure has. Let’s take a couple of comments here. Okay. Uh definitely not your traditional mailbag, which obviously we’ll be back to it here next week, but uh well, Adam has time and just the fact we’re going to the World Series, this is just the way it lines up. So, this is from uh Mike from the UK. He goes, “Uh there’s so much to say here, isn’t there?” Amongst it all, it’s all the talk about history books, stamped memories cemented that gets me. It’s a huge thing for me to plaster new memories on the walls of my house that have been so dark, particularly in the last 5 years. I thought a lot of Adam Mack last night. I don’t know where uh you are with him currently, but I hope this gets him up and cheering and thinking about him. Uh if it’s appropriate, give him a call today. So, there you go. walkoff fans still thinking of you, buddy. Cheers. We’ll we’ll go to Brian Crawford here, too. He goes, “Uh, if you’re doing a mailbag today, here’s one for you. Um, what has been the biggest shocker about this team this year? We were hoping to get a wildcard spot, but we won the division, the ALDS, the ALCS. What has improved the most in 2025? What do you think, Adam?” A positive regression. It finally worked out. It finally worked out. You know what, man? I am not the biggest Ross Atkins guy. Um, but Oh, he’s gonna be here for a while now. Watch He is absolutely. I mean, both him and get whether you like him or not now, get used to it because there’s no way they’re not reuped. uh watching Ross Atkins hugging his wife last night on the on the field and just like how emotional she was like, you know, cuz she sees him in the trenches. She sees she must see the headlines and the hatred. Yeah. Oh, for sure. And I Vindication for sure. You always talk like Trey Savage was talking about people reaching out to his girlfriend and stuff. If you don’t think Ross Atkins is getting death threats like on the regular, you obviously don’t know the the the climate of the world these days because that man has gotten more hate and more um you know negative energy thrown his way than probably anyone in this organization. And you know what? Good on him. He put together a World Series team and this is the team that he was selling to us. Yes. Against our will for seven years. Like this was the defense first, right? And it is the defense first balls in play. Yeah. And it just turns out all you needed to do was you just needed to do that perfectly. Yeah. you needed to thread a needle no one thought in Blue Jay’s fandom could be threaded and well like like I mean speaking of defense it turns out that like okay having incredible defense wins games having really good defense not enough and that’s kind of where I think for the last several years has been like we haven’t had the home run production we haven’t you know we’ve had a lot of issues and the defense hasn’t been good enough to Mhm. make the difference. But now the defense is good enough because we’ve had like the Jimenez edition, the Miles Straw edition. Like we have four center fielders out there who if they were playing full time would win gold gloves at the position, you know, like it’s it’s just next level. We haven’t even said the name Nathan Lucas yet. And there is talk about an unsung [ __ ] hero, dude. This is the guy who is in the two-hole for this team. He’s hitting over 300 in the playoffs. He has been absolutely massive in the field. They’ve been able to move him from right field to left field, put him in center when they’ve needed him. He has done everything asked of him. He is a journeyman minor league guy who finally got his opportunity and has been lights out. Talk about dialed in. One thing that’s nice with this playoff run because like all of these guys are are boys at this point, right? Mhm. All the players, John Schneider, Ross Atkins, everyone. Um, and to have a run like this that goes this deep is it extends the care like it extends the careers in a life-changing way for a lot of these guys who might have been fringe players and out of the league. Mhm. in a season or two, right? Like John Schneider is a guy who there was talks of like, is he the guy we we got to get someone else, fire him, move on. And at that point, you know, a season ago, you go, “Yeah, he hasn’t really done a lot to prove that like he’s a good manager in baseball to the point where like he and they were saying it on the post game yesterday, uh, 24 years in the Blue Jays organization. like this is an internal product here that I don’t know gets a second chance in Tampa or in Pittsburgh or you know like once once the time of John Schneider if we had fired him last year he might have just been out of baseball you know like you’re selling cars in Red Deer. Yeah. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But to go on this run, you go, “Well, John Schneider has I mean, one extended his time in Toronto by 5 years at the least.” Mhm. And then even once that’s over, now you go, “Well, Tampa’s going to take a flyer on a guy who brought a team to the World who went from fifth in the ALC’s to to World Series the next year.” Like, he’s going to win manager of the year. So, he’s got a contract extension plus at least one probably two other teams are going to give him a shot. Like he’s he’s going to be a lifelong big league manager at this point. And so, it’s like it’s I’m happy for him in that regard. And I think that’s why like Ross Atkins and his wife and whatever are like emotional about this is like Nathan Lucas might not be a Blue Jay next year, but someone’s going to offer him a contract. Yes. you know, like beyond his time here, you go, “Yeah, this is a guy who can get it done. We, you know, we talk you need a guy like Ernie Clement to step up and now there’s a piece on the resume that says, “Hey, I’m a guy that like might be your 26th man all year long, but I’m not going to crumple in the postseason.” Like, you might need a guy that can be a valuable piece. And I’ve shown I can hit 400 in the ALCS. And so all these guys have just extended their careers and I’m so happy for all of them because you’ve gone from a measly 800k. I’m laughing as I say that. But to like, okay, you’ve like as a team, Vlatty has helped, Springer has helped change all of their lives like beyond just the box score and like the cool run. We’re extending the careers of all of these players, all of these people in the organization. So, that’s really cool. The Fred Van Fleet of it all, if you want a Raptors reference. Sure. Yeah. Well, rappers going on that run with Kawaii did a lot for basketball fandom in Canada. I mean, there was already a big contingent, but I I do wonder I’ve had a lot of like casual friends texting me a lot. Yeah. This month about the Blue Jays, and I do wonder if this is going to help the sport grow like a fan base in Canada this round. I think it will. I think we’re going to see a similar boom that we saw in the ‘ 90s after the Blue Jays did what they did. You know what’s funny, too? And I I Mark Shapyro, this is a line that you’re going to remember and it drove both you and I absolutely nuts, right? Is consistency is a competitive advantage. And I remember just being like, “Fuck off, Mark. Come on. We’re just going to keep running it back and eating my words now.” Because the truth is is that really like giving these guys shot after shot, it kind of all came together. And this isn’t necessarily how I’d like to see every one of my sports teams managed, but for the Toronto Blue Jays, it has worked out. Um, I know a few of our our old school listeners here, SCTI. Uh, yeah. He goes, “Uh, I’ve never cried this much watching baseball, and he goes like, “My wife came downstairs, laughed at me, and went, are you crying?” And I I’m with you, Ian. I got to say, like I again, I missed the game last night. celebrated watching it on MLB Live and then when I came home and watched the full game and watching Springer hit his home run, I was in tears. I knew it was coming, but just like the buildup of the moment, I’m getting joked up here. Listening to Dan and Buck talk about like going into that inning and and whatever about how like this is probably the chance. Yeah. Right. Because like be beyond this into the eighth and I can’t think of the Mariners closer there, right? But he’s been so spectacular. Munoz, right? You go, this is the opportunity, right? Like he’s been unhitable through the playoffs as is a great closer anyways. So you go if we don’t get to Bazardo now. Mhm. We’re the game’s over. It just hasn’t ended yet, right? So it’s like going into that moment and knowing what’s coming and then seeing it happen and seeing how it’s just like really cool. Yeah. No, I’m with you, buddy. I’m with you. And I know uh Deb, another longtime Patreon member, he goes, “Dude, I’m shaking. This is incredible. My 16-year-old son is so happy he finally gets to see the Blue Jays in the World Series like his parents did in the 90s.” And uh I mean, that kind of like hits me. It kind of hits me right here, too. You know, it’s just like I remember being a kid and just like what a huge deal it was to see this team do what they did and that a whole new generation of Canadians gets to gets to experience baseball at its best. It’s it’s magic, man. And I just I uh I love how connected it has made Jay’s fandom. you know, you you you saw it on the television last night, just the fan base was just absolutely ravenous. They just like could not get enough. And I mean, I was right there with them. And top to bottom, this organization, you know what? I know there’s a lot of hate for him, but Don Mattingley, this is the first time, dude, player or coach, that he is going to a World Series. This is a man they call [ __ ] Donnie baseball, right? like this is this is just such an incredible thing for him. I mean, up and down this uh organization, just huge props to everyone involved um to all the listeners of the walk-off over the years. I got so many incredible messages, dude, that I should have been just forwarding to you. But I also knew it was late and didn’t need to be texting you every [ __ ] two seconds. But so many people reaching out and just uh so excited and uh yeah, man. Pretty darn cool. Fantastic. I know we’re going to wrap up here in a few minutes. Do we want to talk uh the big bad Dodgers? No. I hate Not yet. E I’m with you. You know, I’m not ready to come down off this high. Yeah. Like the Dodgers are really good. Let’s just put it that way. Like they’ve got six Sai Young caliber pitchers on their team that are healthy and playing well. Well, let’s talk Jeff Hoffman’s redemption then because man, have we ever been hard on him all season long? So hard on him, especially after such an incredible April, right? I mean, we were just so high on the guy. He was putting in two inning saves. He was doing just incredible stuff. And then to watch him do it again in the ALCS to beat April Hoffman in the biggest freaking series of the year, you know, like that. I I I know that the Jays were up by four runs in game six, but they needed two innings out of Hoffman. They needed him to shut things down. And then the ability to come in last night and strike out the side. Like dude, like they didn’t put the ball in play. They were one swing away from tying it. Did not put the ball in play. Yeah. I mean, pressure, man. It’s uh the closer is the toughest spot to pitch in, right? And the stars are lining up like he is April Hoffman again or was this week and a two out or a two in six out save. Yeah. Is something we always question with Jordan Romano. Yeah. Right. And no no hate on Romano. disrespect to Jordan who was so valuable to us while during his time here. But that was always the concern, right, of like, well, he’s good if if if you only need three outs and you know, again, I don’t want to spend all this time just complaining on Romano, but like Hoffman to get a six out save. Yeah. Followed by run it right back the next night and be dialed in. like 36 36 pitches in game six to come out again the next day and shut it down like he did just the thing of legends man. So, I’m happy for him because everybody that’s getting ragged on is having a moment in the playoffs. Like from IKF to George Springer’s earning his money, his entire contract, it’s just happy for all the stats. The fact they did this, dude, I’m so happy for Brendan Little, you know? I’m so happy. Oh, just because he’s off the hook. Well, it’s not his performance that that lost this, right? I mean, like I I know that game five was tough, but uh anyways, we’ll we’ll wrap it up here. Sorry. Speaking a little, that makes me think of Bizardo after he gave up that three-run shot, blow the lead, and then watching him chew gum on the pitcher mound getting ready for his next like batter. It’s like, man, you just [ __ ] sorry, like cost your team a shot of the World Series and now you still got to stay in there and pitch. Like, that’s a tough spot to be in, man. Tough spot to be in. And you know what? Much love to Mariners fans. I know there’s a lot of you out there. I I What a run. Uh had it been any other team you were playing, I would have been cheering you on. So, uh you know what? But on that, we’re going to wrap things up here. Drop your comments. Thank you to everyone who listens to the walk-off. You guys are the [ __ ] best. We really do appreciate you. Go Blue Jays. Go. And holy [ __ ] we’re going to the World Series, everybody.

  1. Absolute pandemonium inside the Rogers Centre last night boys! Glad I was there to witness that moment off the bat of George Springer. Let’s go Blue Jays!!!

  2. "I think George thought it would be George." What evidence do you have of that? He knew he was off for a couple games due to his knee and how well Vladdy played the entire series. They are good friends and George was happy for him. George celebrates every other players success and amps them up during the games, he is a total team player.

  3. ya guys think they should fire shatkins and john schneider if the jays don't win the next series?

  4. Provided Bo can play at 100% you guys are overthinking it he's SS and Gimenez over to 2B, IKF is the odd man out. I love IKF but you need Bo's bat. If he's not 100% and needs to dh, Springer goes to RF, Barger to 3B.

I think I'd put Springer at RF over Bo at SS regardless of health. I'd prefer an average defender at RF then SS.

  5. I lived through the '92 and '93 World Series in my high school years and awesome to see them back. thankful to see this in my lifetime still, hopefully more!

  6. Managers, even terrible managers still get bench coach and other minor league, developmental or college jobs. If the Jays missed the play-offs and he was fired there would likely be a really high chance he landed atleast bench coach job this offseason, maybe even a new manager gig. Especially with all the managerial turnover currently happening. I know Mattingly was a superb player, but you'll likely find him on a lot peoples worst managers lists and he got 2 manager jobs, worked his way into a bench coach/htting coach job and might be in line for some interviews for manager jobs again after this season with the success of the Jays. In every industry people work with guys who used to be managers or executives and burn out, get bought out, layed off or fired. Baseball is an industry like any other.

  7. I said this in a live stream and its the most apt way to describe Bo at SS. Bo is to MLB shortstops what a tutor shooter is to NHL goalies. If it's hit right at him he is fine, otherwise he isn't an MLB shortstop. His glove and arm strength are adequate, barely. Vladdy does a lot of work corraling Bo's offline throws and his range is abysmal for a middle infielder. He is the shortstop equivalent of Castellanos or Heliot Ramos. If he didn't get hurt he may well have ended up with the worst fielding run value in baseball.

  8. How did Toronto get here? Toronto is the only team in the MLB that had a positive WAR at every line-up position this year including PH and DH. Only the bullpen had a negative WAR factor, then again, so did 19 other teams.

  9. Bichette could be a pinch hitter. and once he gets on he could be replaced by a pinch runner. I hope Yessavage is on for gme 2.

  10. I love this show. It's nice to hear from fans just like me. I was a little embarrassed but I also became emotional. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. LOL. Welcome back, Adam Mack.

  11. What happened to Bo's speed? Even before his recent injury, he was in the 21st percentile for sprint speed and 1st percentile for fielding range – 100th percentile being the absolute best. Has it been attrition of injuries and playing on the artificial turf in Rogers Centre that's taken its toll?

  12. Heard Varsho mention that Popkins helped him out a lot in this series. Think the hitting coaches are the mvps for the Jays this year. Perhaps the most important acquisitions by Shatkins

  13. First off there is absolutely no way Bo plays SS. And I would be shocked if he played 2B or the field at all. As far as getting him on the roster and in lineup. That’s easy. He takes Loperfido spot, as he isn’t going to play anyway. Lineup, Springer to OF, Barger to 3B, Ernie to 2B, IKF to bench. Against lefties, probably Barger sits and makes it even easier

  14. Bo will take the place of Davis Schneider. Ikf can play the outfield in a pinch . Bo will be off the bench to " ease him in ". He's a free agent and can't injure himself further. It would cost him money. Gausman is the Ace . He goes game 1 .

Isn't it AWESOME to talk about Blue Jay games in late October !!!!

    Ya hooooooooooooo!!!!!!
