Come with me as we go through what’s in the bag for Scotty, Rory, and team Tailormaid at the Tour Championship. Scotty and Rory have combined for eight wins this year with their Spider Torx putters. Let’s compare their specs. Scotty has a more neutral stroke arc, so he plays his L neck with 21 degrees of towang to match his right hand claw grip. Rory has a more moderate stroke arc, so his short slant is built with 30 degrees of towh hang and a flatter lie angle of 69 degrees compared to Scotty’s 71 to help with his face rotation and arc through the stroke. Tailor Made has the most putters in play this week with 10, including Tommy Fleetwood’s Spider Tour and Jacob Bridgeman’s Spider Tour V. My favorite thing to do when I walk the range is to find the best wear marks, and that was an easy task this week. Scotty’s P7TW iron wear marks are insane, while Rory, Colin, and Jacob practically have a residency on the center of their fairway woods. Oh, and by the way, Tailor Made leads the fairway count this week with 30 in play. Back on the tour truck, our tour team completed the yearly tradition of regripping Rory’s clubs at East Lake. We played a 16 rib grip, multi compound, black, white. these tape configurations. There’s one what we would call one plus one. So, one masking tape and one double-sided tape. This tape is a fraction thinner than that one, and that gets him to the grip thickness that he prefers. We also did work on Colin’s grips. He returned to a Zcord grip setup that won both of his major championships. Notable clubs this week for Colin include his MG5 wedges and P7 CB irons. Tommy Fleetwood is rolling into East Lake with two top fives in the playoffs. The top of his bag is electric as always, going with Qi35 driver, R seven quad mini, QI35wood, and QI10 9wood. Can’t forget about perhaps the most important piece of equipment, golf ball. Rory, Colin, and Jacob are all playing TP5, while Tommy is playing his famous TP5X picks. Team Tailor Mate is off to a hot start at East Lake, and that’s what’s in the bag at the Tour Championship.

  3. I recently went from a ping tyne with a black shaft to a red spider with a steel shaft. The glare off the steel shaft is blinding in the sun when lining the line mark up on my ball. Any suggestions other than a new shaft?

  27. Taylormade also has the worst driver in the Qi35 they didn’t get a single tour win in 2025 until Tommy won.
