  1. You might be wasting time in practice without realizing it—because of a feel-versus-real problem. Even the smallest change in your swing can feel completely new and unusual. For example, if you want to play more consistently but your hands aren’t getting in front of the ball, moving them just slightly forward might already feel like major progress. In reality, they may still not be far enough ahead to truly compress the ball better. That’s why it’s crucial to film yourself during practice and check whether you’re actually in the right position—otherwise, all that effort might not lead to the results you want.
