  1. As a 70 year old student of golf and golf history, I knew that I no longer possessed the moral fibre to watch live coverage on Sunday night. I went instead to 6PM Holy Mass at my RC Cathedral in Aberdeen. It was Palm Sunday. The priest gave a homily on Jesus, falling under the weight of the cross. 3 times he fell. 3 times he got back up. Most men would have never gotten back up. It's over. Kill me here, I'm done. I went to bed reflecting that Rory would suffer a Golgotha, a Passion, a Crucifixion on Sunday, and I prayed that he would have the fortitude to get back up. And so it transpired. He fell under the weight of his cross 3 times. On hole 1, hole 13, hole 18. He got up each time and reached his goal. Watching the SKY Monday replay of the final round, despite knowing the outcome, was still a crushing experience. I once won a monthly medal. That was enough pressure for me! What we witnessed was glory. It transcended golf. It transcended sport.

  2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE @Skysportsgolf editors make a Montage of Rory's Masters with the Billy Lockett version of Pure Imagination.
I would love to relive this day over and over. 🙏

  3. Throughly decent human being who has made huge differences for charities in Northern Ireland through his quiet (and large) donations and patronage. A credit to Northern Ireland and his family. Him and Shane Lowry are the 2 best sporting ambassadors the island of Ireland could wish for.

  4. Better than Faldo because he isnt a tosser (who, if was on the Sky panel, would be busy as usual turning every question or issue into talking about himself lol).

  5. Claiming this victory was bigger than tigers comeback in 2019 is a bit ridiculous. Nothing will ever top that but it’s a close second

  6. I can't think of another Major where someone did everything he could do to lose the tournament then eventually won.

  7. No, Seve will always be the standard bearer and most loved European golfer, his talent was sublime, short game unmatched

  8. Look, Rory provides more excitement with one win than Tiger did with all of his titles. I admired Tigers results for years but he never provided this scale of entertainment. Rory is very much the peoples champion. I predict more major wins this year and beyond.

  9. I think Rory has already experienced max pressure on the course with his Masters Win. I think it will help him to laugh in the jaws of danger for the remainder of his career. Rory without the Masters monkey is likely to perform on another level long muted.

  10. He may not have won a major since 14’ but his body of work in the interim is still mightily impressive. 3 FedEx cups and 6 European order of merit, wins at the flagship events on both tours (Players, BMW). And he’s a long way from done…at 35 he can rise even further in the pantheon of greats. Fair play to him he’s also always entertaining as there has been glimpses of fragility to go with the awesome talent. Haters gonna hate etc but for mine he’s the most watchable of this era.

  11. Golf is such a unique sport! You have to compete against dozens of other players over 4 days! In sports, such as football and rugby, because they are team sports you have a number of players who can make up for your mistakes! In sports, such as tennis, you are 1:1 with one player until the next round and then it is 1:1 again!
