Jason Day Putting- Helping You Self Assess

Welcome back to episode 2 of Training with The Lads. It todays episode Jason and Jeg go over putting, and in particular being able to self assess as you go through your own practice. The ability to identify if it is speed, read, line or technique that causes a ball to miss is vital to being able to improve on your next putts, and ultimately becoming a better putter.

  1. Drop the one where he explains what that training aid he rests putter shaft on is. Been trying to figure out what it is for a couple years

  2. A good “start line” drill I do before putting practice or a competitive tournament is to put a dime 8 to 10 inch in front of the putter on that line. You can’t see it, but you can hear it.

  3. I love this segment. Super helpful. I am learning more and more about putting. I typically leave putts short. And even not being committed to the line. Is such a help and knowing to step off until I feel confident

  4. I love the direction you’re taking this channel. You’re providing insight on how to approach golf as much as direct instruction and it’s something i didn’t realize how much i can benefit from. Thanks Lads!

  5. Self assessment even after makes is awesome to see. Learned a lot about your championship level thought process and mindset.

  6. Thank you Lads! Can we have a more indepth chipping technique video of Jday? I enjoyed the lies approach but I still need more insight on improving my chipping technique. Would love to see that video and Driver video on how to keep the ball in play

  7. Great lesson! Maybe sometime talk about transitioning from pitching wedge to 9 iron. I hit my Mizuno T-22 PW awesome. Great feel and narrow dispersion. Since I’m a mid handicapper, the Mizuno swing thing, put me into the game improvement irons, swing speed, old guy. Still debating if I should go to more of a players 9 and then gi irons on up. Tough transitioning! Great channel, really enjoying it. You’re in my top 5!

  8. Great informative, I find my takeaway is causing me grief as the putter rabbles as I take my back swing, please help me

  9. Awesome content !! Thank you

Can we see a full 18 holes with the lads ??
With something on the line 🙏🙏🙏🙏
    Should be epic

  10. Finally!!! Someone on youtube talking about putting, not just hitting it 350. I appreciate this more than you can imagine. Thanks Lads !!!!

  11. I’ve just recommended this channel to my 12 year old boy. Especially after learning what Jason puts on his ball. My boy went out and shot a 6 shot pb 6 over on our local par 3 course! Love this content!!

  12. can you do one on adjusting setup during a competitive/tournament round. like say you are pull-hooking shots or just mis-hitting in general, how much should you adjust to correct it mid round. concentrate on driver if you can!

  13. These videos are absolute gold! I'm busy scribbling down notes. As a true high handicapper, I just want to say a big thanks for taking the time to share all this. You clearly don’t have to—but it means a lot and I really appreciate it.

  14. As someone who has been following JDay since 2013 (not just every tournament or round, but every single shot) I am stoked about this YT page w/ The Lads. So cool to see more of him and his personality. These training vids are icing on the cake to learn from him. I will be at Augusta for practice round Tuesday and hoping to get to see him there. But as I'm in Pittsburgh, I will be at Oakmont and walking his entire round on Friday. Can't wait !!!

  15. Would love to see a course management video from you JDay. Thoughts like where you want to hit and why on the course to score better.

  16. Jason starting this channel has been the best thing ever. These are early days, i can see this page being absolutely huge in 12 months time. Keep it rolling lads, massive fan of these educational videos.

  17. Great stuff! I use marks on the green for my starting line, works great! We need a video on how to score on the course👊🏼 great work boys
