  1. I wonder how much Grant pays these pros to appear on his channel. Why would a professional golfer take the time to play against a YouTube golfer? Sure, these influencers have talent, but they haven’t succeeded at the pro level, and it’s definitely not because the pros need the money. There’s a huge difference between playing for fun and competing for a legacy. Phil does it to push his gummies, and while it’s entertaining, it doesn’t compare to the intensity of battling for a Masters or U.S. Open title. And yeah, we get some interesting shot breakdowns and insight into a pro’s thought process, but beyond that, what’s the real takeaway?

Grant is making a ton of money—good for him—but does that make him great at anything beyond content creation? He’s a solid guy and a successful influencer, but professional golf is about competing at the highest level, under real pressure. Any win he gets in these matches is ultimately hollow. Let’s see him do it on Tour when the stakes actually matter. Sure, it’s a fun way for guys like Justin Thomas to show their personality, but at the end of the day, it’s just entertainment.

Maybe this is just a Gen Z thing—being good at something without having to prove it when it counts the most. Older players like Daly might do it to stay relevant, but what does someone like Justin Thomas really get out of appearing on a YouTuber’s channel? Just my two cents, but I’m sure I’ll get some heat for it.

  2. Love Grant’s videos as a new golfer. Unfortunately, here at the beginning, the safest place for someone to stand while I hit the ball is directly in front of me

  3. Love Justin Thomas man….for all the ups and downs he's been having with his career, the dude just stays positive and enjoys playing the game. Making time to come out and support youtube golf is awesome from any tour pro. We love to see it! I wish him nothing but the best this season.
