Potgieter’s golf swing resembles Rory Mcilroy’s swing. His distance is one of the longest on tour.

  1. Don’t understand why you have to hit the ball so hard! He has a very interesting swing with impecable lines and angles…he is at a disadvantage right off the bat with such a strong left hand on the club so has to re route onto plain coming down…not as dramatic as Rory Sabbatini but just as effective. I’d compare this swing more to Sabbatini than McCLroy. He was all over the shop when he shot 61…did not drive it well at all by his own admission….so just very weary he will not play well on tight US Open type courses where you have to swing withing yourself on an even tempered keal. Going full bore like this requires amazing short game and putting prowess to recover which thankfully he does possess very well. Just don’t get it at all why an athlete has to hit the hell out of the ball to ‘impress’ …thats not golf to me….it certainly is not tournament smart golf! Also in tennis in both the mens and women’s game why the hell do you have to hit the ball over 100 mph….makes very little sense to me where both sports require smart smooth athleticism.
