Most OUTRAGEOUS priced Golf Club ever!?

In this video Rick Shiels tests the new Ping G440 fairway wood line up. The performance of these clubs line up in typical Ping fashion. However the price of one of the woods is shockingly expensive.

Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. The LST fairway wood is a very niche product Rick £575 is the retail price suggested by Ping. It will probably sell at £525 which I agree is on the high side.

  2. I have a Ping G400 3 wood. Can only occasionally hit it off the deck. Sure as hell ain’t gettin a new one! As the old saying goes: Its the injin not the arrow fellas.

  3. Interesting review Rick. You should think about adding the 7W into your bag over the 3/4 iron. Its workability is amazing and really helps playing out of semi rough/rough. I've found adding this 7W has assisted with hitting the ball 185 to 205m and coming down really soft. A great club for long par 3's and second shots into Par5.

As for the 3W-LST model… this shocked me. Seeing your numbers getting worse seemed weird. Personally the MAX versions of most PING products give incredible versatility and a bucket load of forgiveness.

  4. The price of golf clubs lately is ridiculous. I feel it'll alienate a lot of new players and people just looking to take the sport up, that don't know where to go for a quality used clubs. And walk away from the sport because of the stupid tag prices..

    Love the content.

  5. LST is made per Tour Players request(much better ball strikers than Rick). Ping has said they will not have any product on tour that isn’t available at retail. They make much less of them, they use premium driver materials, making the cost much higher. But yes $550 usd is WILD!

  6. The RRP is £575 but it is for sale on several websites (including American Golf) for £499. Golfworx even has it at £469. Strange even when it's brand new out it is still not selling at it's RRP. Marketing tactic?

  7. I was watching the difference in spin rate, the LST spins between 500-1000 rpm more than the MAX that’s why the LST has such a stall-y ball flight, and just doesn’t have the distance. That one shot you nuked was spinning 1500rpm less than almost every other middled shot with the LST.

    Where has Spinsistancy gone?

  8. I just bought a set of Cobra King tour MIM irons for 300 quid 😂. I wouldn’t pay that for a fairway wood.

  9. The answer lies with us fellow consumers. We need to start a movement that agrees to not buy any new golf clubs for 12 months minimum. I can certainly play another season with what’s in my bag.

  10. I'm sure that there is someone out there with more money than sense who will put one of the LST clubs in the bag – just because!!!!!! You are spot on – go with the Max

  11. What’s the shaft option that comes with that for 575 pounds?
I got a titleist 3 wood with a premium shaft upgrade for 505 pounds equivalent. The standard shaft would’ve been 390 pound

  12. My Ping G410 7 wood is easily one of my favourite clubs I’ve ever played. Such a versatile club and I find it way easier to hit than a 4 iron, or equivalent Hybrid.

  13. Lots of the claimed improved technology is very debatable and often nothing more than marketing hype. But then simple and proven benefits such as a 'sock' on the head cover to prevent 'bag rub' shaft failures has been a massive downgrade in recent years……but it does help them sell future replacement shafts and clubs. It's all about keeping that cash train rolling for each of the makers my creating new 'must have' fomo products each and every year.
