  1. This is probably one of the most humbling times for Justin right now. What once was the face of the PGA tour, now hes scratching to get in.

  2. The format for the Tour Championship is absolutely absurd. Giving players what are essentially Mulligans is the most ridiculous idea in the history of golf. Call it a "staggered start" if you want, but at the end of the day, it's still a Mulligan. And the sheer insanity of awarding the best players the most Mulligans is the height of absurdity. We watch sports for the drama, the uncertainty, and the thrill of not knowing the outcome until the very end. When you manipulate the outcome by giving certain players an unfair advantage, it cheapens the event and makes it unwatchable.

Imagine if the PGA Tour were in charge of March Madness—Cinderella teams wouldn’t stand a chance because the top seeds would be given extra points to "reward" their season performance. Or what if the Tour had run the NFL when the Giants played the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl? The Patriots would’ve been handed 10 points before kickoff as a reward for their perfect season. That would’ve been ludicrous.

I can’t help but wonder what legends like Snead and Hogan would think. I doubt they’d even show up for a tournament where Mulligans were being handed out. I’m surprised that other legends like Jack, Gary, Tiger, and especially Lee Trevino aren't speaking out against this, but I guess they have to toe the company line. Just imagine giving Jack or Tiger a 10-shot lead—they'd never lose a tournament.

The real drama leading up to the Tour Championship should be about who can make it into the top 30, and the daily excitement should come from watching the bottom five fight to stay in the top 30 while those just outside try to break in. We don't need endless coverage of the guys already at the top. And of course, no Mulligans.
