Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.

I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

  1. Plenty birdie chances that on another day go in. That dafty in the yellow hat always putting his hand right annoyed me for some reason, enjoyed that though, unlucky.

  2. That 7 was a heavy blow! I think it helped you collect yourself though, so a curse and a blessing. That shank on 18 was a heartbreaker! I was so hoping to see a clean back 9. Without the two meltdowns, a respectable card given the circumstances. You don’t play in front of crowds much, must be intimidating… all eyes upon you. I’m cutting eye holes in a grocery sack now, to come cheer you on next time!!! Kidding of course! Great video, thanks for sharing it.

  3. Great work Rick mate, that crowd is intense – not many people would have the cherries to stand in front of them and swing

  4. Rick I do think you right about professional days being over but you don't have to play golf yo be a professional. Maybe lose that status and just go out there and enjoy your holf. Your still a bloody good player. That is a hard open qualifying course that not many would shoot an 81 on but instead of trying yo make out your a pro and putting that pressure on you go to amateur status get a handicap and just enjoy the game now you don't need to take it serious you csn just make videos people eill still watch you you have regular fans get a handicap your maybe a 3 handicapper and just go out there ike us and enjoy it and enjoy the fact you get shots on holesit makes a massive difference ill till watch your videos and you'll not feel pressurised every yome you play to shoot in the 70s trust me beijg an amateur isn't bad but still do the videos thats what makes you the money not because your an amazing golfer it's because people relate to you and you do Good videos. Thats what your good at and people won't think any less of you and you can still take it serious but you'll have a little help and it'll take Al lthe stress out of it for you. I'll still watch yoir videos and I'm sure the other 4 mil will. I know some people wot like this opinion but that really doesn't matter what's important is you enjoy your golf and go out there and you do what you need to do in order to make it fun and enjoyable. If thst means giving up professional status I don't think anyone would care TBH. Good luck whatever you decide. Sorry for being direct that's just me your still a bloody good golfer and have reached a standard most people can only dream of remember that and you have your health, a family thats more impirtqnt than anthing to do with golf.

  5. Jesus the difference in atmosphere from your usual stuff is crazy. This is why I don't like watching professional golf. It's just so.. stagnant! So dead you can't even think. I can't imagine the nerves and wanting to make a decent impression. You were definitely very professional but after a several of your great shots I was expecting you to turn to someone and say "see I have done this before". How do you guys play in these tournaments without cutting that damn tension? I honestly think that is one of the biggest blocks stopping new golfers.. the atmosphere of professional golf.

Edit: Okay tbf some of that did start happening towards the end, I posted that 'bout halfway through. I think it started when Rick talked to the camera on the 11th, it's still Rick. But it kept going after his 5i approach shot on 12 and a couple more times

  6. Guy in the yellow hat is super frustrating. Standing in front of you on just about every tee shot… I'd have said something to him.

  7. Thank for stepping up and posting this. Takes balls to man up and take the hits. I was so nervous watching this, felt I was there with you. Thanks again…

  8. Just watched this. I was 100% routing for you Rick. Nerves are a funny thing. Managing them is probably more difficult that the game itself. You could tell the nerves were a massive factor in your game. You know your golf is better than that score, and so does everyone who watches your channel mate. Really felt for you there. But your channel os the best around so nevermind. Keep up the amazing work you do Rick 👍🏼

  9. You may not be a great golfer Rick but you are a bloody good one. I was rooting for you the whole way. Keep on golfing !

  10. Thank you for sharing your round Rick, always love watching your channel. Don’t beat yourself up over a few errant shots, you still played some great golf. I’ve played with many a pro that suffered far worse rounds.

  11. RICK: You have to try it again…..and again, never give up everyone….great video ,I'm disappointed for you ……..bad shots are forgotten, any emotion is thinking about potential birdies?

  12. That was unlucky. Lady Luck not on your side that day but hey, that’s golf. The good shots are great, the bad shots completely bend your head. Just got onto your channel, love all the videos so far 👍🏻👍🏻

  13. When the wheels started to come off I think a caddie would of helped you allowing you to get some feedback and help however I enjoyed the ride and I hope you try again

  14. Don't know what shaft you use but they are too stiff for you ..sorry you didn't have a good round.. probably trying to play safe golf and there's no such thing. More drivers from the tee ..

  15. While watching this video I pictured myself trying to play under that amount of pressure. Great job Rick keeping the game together, with this experience you will play a much better qualifier. Keep at it!

  16. Brutal – great effort. Would love to see you and GolfSidekick do something together – he focusses on the mental side of the game / course management per your overdubbed comments on the 18th. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Best thing is this video shows my 14 yr old that even great ball strikers hit bad shots..Love it bra..watch your videos all the time…

  18. I like these type of videos. You were running with the pack so to speak. It is competitive sport that really brings sport alive for the competitor. It’s all about finding the best league to play in. When you do, you will have a blast.

  19. If it were me, i would most likely feign an injury after the first 9 😂 good job keeping it together on the back
