Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men’s game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy—which has been awarded to the winner since 1916—is inscribed with names such as Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player.

The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between 13-19 May at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

  1. What a feeling that would be for Yang, knowing he went toe to toe with Tiger, one of the best golfers in history and coming out on top. That's a feeling no one else got to experience on day 4 of a major with Tiger in the lead. He is forever a legend, especially with that hybrid shot on 18!

  2. 우즈형님을 이긴 양용은 형님 대단하네요. 우즈형님 마지막 미소.. 그리고 세레모니가 압권이죠

  3. This was the Tiger Woods jinx. Prior to this his last major was the 2008 US open. It was assumed he was going to win this tournament and probably should’ve but there’s a first for everyone and he lost to Yang. Then the scandal with his wife became public. And he doesn’t win another major until the 2019 masters.

  4. Yang’s victory was significant as it marked the first time Tiger Woods lost a major when leading after 54 holes.

He was born the son of a poor farmer in Korea and started playing golf by observing others while working part-time at a driving range after graduating from high school.

  5. Tiger just couldn’t get a ball to drop on this day. But I’m still very happy that I bought his putter for just under $400,000. The putter that you see in almost every one of these videos is sitting in a class case, just 6 feet from me at this very moment.

  6. Great archived video, but I'm more and more clueless as the round progress! No score to feel excited about, no nothing.

  7. itll be nice if you can put the scorecard into the video. I literally have to Wikipedia the final round scorecard to follow along

  8. August 16, 2009.. the beginning of the nosedive of Tiger's dominance. A little over 3 months later would be Thanksgiving night and, well, we all know what happened.

  9. "Hello YE Yang, my name is Tiger Woods" – I vividly recall the announcers saying that after Tiger's approach on the 1st at 1:40. Biggest announcer's curse ever. After he missed that putt, it set the tone for the entire round, and everything was history.

  10. Tiger was done after 2008 and he was still young and healthy. Yang did not fear the red shirt and black pants. Once you lose the fear you can beat crooked tiger. Those that think Tiger was better than Jack must think Yang was better than Jack also. After all he beat a prime Tiger. Yang never won another major. Jack has 18. Tiger and Yang combined have 16 majors. Case closed tiger fan boys. Tiger beat and lost to stiffs.

  11. I felt like Tiger lost this tournament in the 3rd round. He looked really shaky on Saturday and was clinging onto his slim lead almost like it was the final round. He didn't give himself enough of a gap going into Sunday and it cost him. Yang refused to crack and took full advantage of Tiger's iffy play.
