Why players love the Meijer LPGA Classic

continuing our team coverage tonight at 5:30 the Meyer LPGA te’s off tomorrow golfers getting their last practice rounds in today news a Laney Gerber has been with them all day at bfield Country Club and Laney what should we look out for this weekend well a lot of these golfers love coming to bfield they love the fan support they get here and a lot of them tend to do well here year after year last year’s Champion Lona Maguire is trying to defend her title she finished second the two years before and finally got to the top in 2023 world number one Nelly corta also tends to do really well here she won in 2021 and has gone to playoff holes multiple times both Corda and Maguire have played here a lot so they know this course pretty well there’s a lot of different ways to do it around here scoring’s always low so it’s a kind of yes you have to you know you have to make a lot of birdies but sometimes you have to be patient and last year it was sort of patient right down to the very end it’s the type of golf course that even if you make a bogey you know that you know there’s a possibility to make a birdie on the next hole so you definitely have to be a little bit more aggressive out here or you can be aggressive Leona and Nelly are in the same group tomorrow teeing off at 12:59 so we’re going to get to watch these two competitors go stroke for stroke all day I should also mention that they’re with Brooke Henderson who’s won this tournament twice so that’s going to be a great group to follow they’re going to be fun to watch for sure live from Bri bfield I’m Lany Gerber news8

The course at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont can be really nice to golfers. (June 12, 2024)

  1. It would be good to see something about this tournament with a little more analytical depth, rather than the reasons why players are so deeply in love with the tournament & Grand Rapids.
