SVP says ‘we will remember’ Rory McIroy not speaking after U.S. Open loss #shorts

Rory is one of my very favorite people in the sport for a lot of different reasons one he’s a thinker and he answers things thoughtfully he’s also a great champion and today understandably a bitter pill a chance to end this major drought and it slips away as it did but I think about this Phil Mickelson the US Open hit it off a beer tent on the 72 hole at Wingfoot to lose with a double and he said afterwards I’m such an idiot Greg Norman melted over the course of five brutal hours the Masters in ’96 as his seemingly insurmountable lead evaporated and when it mercifully ended he stood there under the magnolia trees in the darkness and he answered the questions about what happened I’m certain he would have preferred that the Earth open up and swallow him whole but he stood there and he took it Rory today did not and you just have to how it got away on this Sunday and the fact that he walked away without speaking about it will both be remembered

  1. Leave the guy alone. He had one of his worst days ”working”. Remember your worst day at work and ask yourself if you would want to talk to someone publicly about it right after it happened. And no one will remember that he didn’t speak to the media except for you and the media. Smh

  2. Let's keep it a buck. In three months from now none one will care or think about this. 😂😂😂

Instead we will be watching FOOTBALL!

And ESPN will have something more noteworthy to cover!

  3. So my question is, were the fans chanting USA for Bryson taunting him or cheering for him? 😂😂

  4. I don’t think he’s soft. Honestly, he may have just been in tears and embarrassed. This isn’t a one-off meltdown. It’s the amazing record of top 10, top-5 and runner-ups over the last decade. He’s been a truly elite golfer who just hasn’t been able to finish. Crazy. His numbers are so good. But no majors.
Everyone deserves a bit of grace, and I think Rory merits some.
I also wonder whether there is some sort of frustration that he’s really put himself out there to fight for golf, and he’s had such tough luck. It can feel so unfair, I’m sure.

  5. I've NEVER been a fan of Rory McElroy, but he doesn't owe anyone in media a post-round interrogation. This coming from SVP, who makes his living from and owes his relevance to people like Rory, who have actually achieved greatness, is particularly disgusting. Get over yourself, SVP, you're nothing and Rory McElroy is one of the greatest golfers ever, someone who will be remembered and talked about long after he is gone, unlike you, a person who will be forgotten faster than you can say good riddance.

  6. Such a bad take. If he don’t want to talk to the media yet that’s his decision. Why should he be required to do so right after the loss
