Rickie Fowler started the First Round of the U.S. Open on fire, carding an 8-under par round of 62. The 62 from Fowler set the U.S. Open record for lowest score in a round, vaulting him atop the leader board with Xander Shauffele, who also made history with a 62 just moments later.

The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

Can’t believe he missed that first birdie putt
Want the kid from my high school Isaac Simmons to make the cut but I’m rooting for Rickie to win it!
Go Rickie.
Rickie's putting was ON POINT! What a round man, congrats!
Hey Ricky…lets go for major!!
You can do it if you want to
Golf is better when Rickie is in the hunt
Videos like this are great
Rickie just sold about 50000 long handled putters
I hope he wins.. Go, go, Rickie!!!
Great round but this course is definitely not the typical difficult US Open that's the norm and the fact that 2 players shot 62 makes me kinda feel bad for Johnny Miller who shot his 63 at Oakmont(an actual difficult course.
Go Rickie – but I have to say I have a hard time watching men's golf now that the Saudis own the PGA. It's like if the Saudis bought the NFL or MLB. It just ain't right.
The Orange Puma shall be victorious !
Cmon rickie!!
When Rickie came on tour with his long hair and bright colors, I was very judgmental of such an intrusion into the sport. But as the years have gone on and I've seen interviews with him and what a genuinely good guy he is, I really hope he can win this one. He's been so close in majors several times and it would be a travesty if he never won one.
Did he play the back 9 first???
Well done Stick.
***Wish I could golf like a PRO! Like if you agree!!!
僕はリッキーの優勝をずっと待っている
彼にはそれだけのポテンシャルがある
