I’m here because I just saw Martin Kaymer make it to the British Open as the 2nd reserve. And now I hope he wins the thing
I think all these "what happened to" clips don't show that a person spirals down in their game, necessarily. It just shows how impossible for an average super pro (like Martin here) to sacrifice enough in their life to get to the top and stay there. You can not have a normal life as we know it. Martin didn't just start playing badly, likely many others just started playing much better than him.
