What would you rather have: ace or albatross?

In the final round of The American Express 2023, Xander Schauffele earned the rarest bird of them all, an albatross, as he scored a two on the par-5 5th hole.

  1. I mean I've had both but an albatross is less likely to happen than a hole-in-one if you didn't know that

  2. Believe it or not, odds are better for a hole in one compared to an albatross
And an albatross gets you 3 under on the hole. Usually a hole in one is 2 under.
Unless you can drive a par 4 green.

  3. Congratulations Xander. 3 under par on one golf hole. We mortals can go 3 over par on one golf hole ⛳️ .

  4. Why is the official PGA tour account posting someone filming their tv with a camera, like y'all own the footage

  5. Already had an Albert Ross (thanks auto correct)
So I’ll take the ace please.
To be fair my 2 on a par 5 was not very satisfying, it was a good drive followed by a scabby thin 3 wood that ran and ran over the brow of a low hill to the green, I didn’t even see it go in, I just found it in the hole after looking everywhere else. But I’ll take it.

  6. I’ve only had 1 albatross, 3 holes in 1. Unless you count par3 courses then it’s closer to 12 holes in 1. So more albatrosses.

  7. I just had an ace two weeks ago and yesterday lined out on par.5 for albatross & I was thinking the same thing —- Not a chance I’d take the albatross over the hole in one ☝️!

  8. I'll take my Albatross all day long. Any chancer with a 7 iron has thought about a hole in one from any given par three. I guarantee that no one is stepping up to tee off on a par five expecting a Albatross. It's two great shots back to back. So rare. HIOs are common by comparison.

  9. Hole in one on a par 4. Two birds, one stone. Been playing 35yrs and the closest i got was on a driveable par 4. Guy on the next tee watching said it lipped. Finished 3 inch behind. I'll keep trying lol.
