Justin Rose: “A Bit of Freedom, A Bit of Gratitude Just to Be Here”
Justin Rose reacts after firing a brilliant 65 in the third round of the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink, turning his week around after barely making the cut.
Rose says he came into Saturday with freedom and gratitude just to still be in the tournament, and used that opportunity to find something in his game. After being 5-over late on Friday, he suddenly found himself under par for the championship early in Round 3 and back in the mix on a packed leaderboard.
He also discusses his iron play after recent questions about his equipment change, saying he is confident, experienced, curious and detail-oriented — and that the performance finally showed statistically. Rose explains why the Saturday setup played easier, with warmer weather, slightly more accessible pins and putts that were easier to read than the first two days.
