Hey guys, what is up? Welcome back to the channel. Yes, we have a little throwback episode. If you guys are the OGs of this channel, you remember that this was how my channel first blew up. So, I figured, you know what? It's the holidays. You know, why not go back to the roots for a video and uh do a 18hole commentary at BlueJack National. So, >> this is the toughest course that Tiger Woods has designed and um thus far, at least as far as I'm concerned. So, I figured what better way to have fun with it than see if I could break par from the tips. So, got off to a great start with a really good T-shot over the trees and just a little bit of a flick of a wedge here. Not a bad wedge shot. >> And have about >> four or five feet left here for my birdie. And you guys will see my caddy quick a lot throughout the video. He'll be consulting on my reads and all that good stuff. But I really enjoyed this course. This course was absolutely beautiful. Some of Tiger's finest work. And uh that is not some of my finest work right there. Would have been nice to get started in the red, but uh pars are not too bad. So now we're moving on to hole two. 563 yard par five. And again right here I'm going to be trying to throw it in that gap right there just left of the tree. And this will probably be fading quite a bit because the wind was really hard off the left. So, instead of trying to hook it around that tree, I decided to start it left of that tree and give it a little fade. And uh not too bad here. Pretty much exactly what I had in mind. Maybe a little further right than I would have liked, but still in good shape up the right side of the fairway. >> And yeah, that was this was really a pleasure pleasure playing this course. Really enjoyed the vibes. Had a nice group to play with. And uh it was definitely a really really big challenge because it was blowing pretty good out there. It was probably blowing 10 to 15 sustain. You guys will be able to see some of the leaves moving on the trees. So got a wedge in here from about 170 yards and this was right at the pin like absolute dart. And uh you'll see by my reaction that it went about two yards deep. I am such a drama queen on the golf course. Like it's funny watching these back because, you know, now I'm kind of just, you know, chilling. But, you know, that's probably something for me to think about. Like, I have so much reaction on the golf course and probably probably should maybe work on toning that down. But a really good chip here. This was not a good spot to be. So, I was very happy with this result. Gave me about six, seven feet here for birdie. So once again, another chance to get into red numbers. I think my putting on this day was average at best. Just never quite got a feel for the greens the way I wanted to. And yeah, just pulled this one a little bit, but uh still level par. And as I said, my goal was is to break par on this course. It's a course rating of about 76 and a half 77. If you go by course ratings and slope, this is by far the hardest course um that Tiger has had a hand in designing. So on the third hole, 230 yard par three and I remember not feeling very comfortable over this shot. There was a lot of wind coming in I believe off the right. So I tried to knock this one down and the wind just kept pulling it and pulling it and pulling it. So, I thought for a second it might have a chance to stay up, but you know, I kind of figured as I saw it in the air, it was it was pulling left pretty good. I did get a good uh distance on it, which is always nice to see. That is something that uh has been a paramount of paramount importance lately is getting the distances dialed in so that I'm pin high. So, honestly, not a terrible shot. Just didn't get the result I wanted. Was trying to skip it up there and uh get it rolling towards the hole. But got about a 10 15 footer here and uh got this to save my par. And you guys might notice a few times throughout the video the camera angles might be a little wonky. So, this is truly a throwback video before I had my awesome crew and uh a lot of people working with me on this uh this channel. Yeah, this was filmed on a good old iPhone with a tripod back in the old days in 2020. So, truly a throwback. Unfortunately, left that one a little short. And now we're going right back into the fan. 474 yard par4 big boy hole right here. So, going to be ripping it with the driver. There was a decent amount of room on this golf course for the driver, which was really nice. You could pretty much hit it anywhere. You just might sometimes have tree trouble. Fan this one out to the right and the wind pushed it pretty good as well. Honestly though, it wasn't in a completely horrible spot. It did find that short grass that was right of the cart path, but left of um the super tall stuff. So, and you guys might not think that of short grass, but I can tell you move over another 10 yards, it gets really bad. So, now I have a about 150 160 yard shot. You can see the pin waving back at us in between those tree trunks. So, I'm just kind of looking up at the top of those trees, kind of getting an idea for how high I need to hit it. Didn't get a terrible draw with the lie here. Just need to kind of play my normal shot and it should get over these trees. And I did that. I got it over the trees pretty well. But unfortunately, I actually hit it too solid. And what I what I mean by that is that I was planning on there not being a lot of spin. I was planning on it being a fly or lie. And I caught it a little too cleanly. And so what happens with that is you get a lot of backspin and the balloons. And that's what happened here. So, I got about a 40 50 yard pitch shot. Honestly, not a bad pitch shot here. The ball just kept moving and moving and moving. And as you guys can see, kind of perplexed by how much that moved. Still not a bad shot, but you guys can see that wind is starting to buff it up pretty good. So, I have about six or seven feet here to try to save my par. And uh just kind of peels right on me pretty good. And just cleaning that up for bit of a disappointing bogey. But onto hole five, a 634 yard monster. And you can pretty much hit this drive anywhere. And that's that's what I did. I hit it up the right side. Absolutely smoked it >> and uh actually ran up the card path. This ball ended up going like 450 yards. >> Just absolutely smoked it. And uh have about 160 yards left here, something like that. I have a lob witch in hand, believe it or not. And uh put it up to pull it out to the left because the wind is pushing hard to the right. And this was right at the pin, but it lands long and it rolls off as you guys can see there. It landed at the top of that crown and it rolled all the way down to that back half of the green. Probably right here. One of my best putts all day. This putt doesn't look that crazy from where I'm putting it, but I promise you from all the way back there, it looked like a miniature golf course with how much it was breaking. So, really great birdie there. And once again, going right back into the fan here. and uh see if we can keep this birdie train rolling. And I've had a lot of trouble hitting driver into headwinds. I believe it's because I subconsciously try to smother the drive and hit it low and I just end up blocking it like that. [laughter] Oh man, I am way too animated on the golf course. No wonder I have trouble mentally out there, you know. It's actually fascinating now that I get to watch the breakdown, you know. I guess you could say past the act. Um, I'm noticing I am just way too animated. If I can lower my intensity a little bit, I think that would that would definitely suit me. So, we do have a shot here. Much better than I could have hoped for. And you guys can probably see the window I'm taking here. I'm going to try to put it through those little tree tree limbs there with a bit of a fade. And I actually I pushed it a bit right, but still went through that tree limb there. And uh thought it was a great shot, but I think it just rolled off the back of the green. So, not too bad. Definitely a positive move forward there. So, it landed at the top of that hill and just rolled all the way down. But, uh it's definitely been a tough course, especially with this wind. So, just pitching it up. Thought, you know, when I hit it, it was really solid, but it just kept rolling and rolling and rolling. And I got myself about a seven or eight footer coming back up the hill. And uh there is no secret. If I want to break par, >> I'm definitely going to need need to make some of these putts. >> So, this is going to be a very slow putt right up the hill. So, my main focus is just making a good stroke and uh trying to get something going on the greens. I haven't done too much on the greens so far and uh that's not going to do it. Just Yeah, there's not a good day on the greens to this point. >> So, giving [snorts] that shot right back. But, uh we have a par three coming up. Right back into the wind. You guys can see the wind's really buffeting up pretty good now. And if you guys look at those clouds really closely, you can see them moving right to left and in. And just a bit of a a little pro tip, um, if you guys want to see which direction the wind is blowing, a really good way to tell is to look at the look of the clouds. So, if you guys look really carefully, you'll see them blowing at us and to our left. So, that's a very good indication of the atmospheric prevailing wind direction. And so I found that has been a very effective way to ascertain which direction the wind is taking a golf ball. So honestly not a bad shot here. I was just terrified of that water and hit a phenomenal putt here. Um for second thought I might curl in there but uh >> really solid three here. My putting's been weird. It's the lag putts have been incredible >> and once I get inside 10 feet I might as well have bricks for hands. Yeah. >> So, on to the next hole. Drivable par4. 352 yards. Wind is off the left and helping a little bit. And uh if you guys can look out there, you can see a big swell to the right. That is a very easy swell to get caught up in on this hole. So, you want to aim a little bit to the left and let that wind pull it back. And I basically hit a perfect shot here with that draw, fighting the wind. Didn't quite get the kick I wanted to on this. So, it landed pretty soft. And once again, there's me being the drama queen >> and wishing it would be on the green instead of 10 yards off the green with an easy looking birdie. >> So, I can't understand why I would get annoyed, frustrated, because if that took one nice little hop, that thing is >> going to be very close to the hole. get that ball. >> So, if you guys look at this green, you can see how that like dark green stripe is over that pin. If you get any further right of that to like that light green stripe, that ball's rolling off the green. >> So, really great putt here. You can see it gets close, probably a foot or two away from rolling off that green entirely. >> So, solid birdie there. Got that shot back. I've already >> Now I'll see if I can start actually making putts longer than three feet. So wind off the right here and a little bit hurting. Definitely not a small par4 here. Almost 500 yards. And again, my nemesis off the tea with headwinds has been smothering it and trapping it, hitting these huge block slices. And uh I did that again here. Not as bad, but it's just a recurring problem to the point where I honestly don't see why I should be hitting driver in the extremely heavy wind because I just cannot seem to keep that thought at bay of staying behind and under the golf ball. My brain just wants to hit it low and smother it. So here we are trying to work out the line of attack here. And the green is a little left of this uh this alley here. So you want to try to just run it up there and give yourself either easy chip or get it on the right side of that green. So I've been I was getting kind of fortunate with the uh the alleyways I've been getting. So see if we can get another hit another good shot here. I believe I have a seven or six iron in hand here. It's about a 200 yard shot. And honestly, great flight here. Just push it out to the right a bit, but it's going to get around the green and it'll be in fairly good shape and I'll have a decent chance for an up and down. So, at the bottom of this hill, didn't miss the green by much. just uh a little bit too far right and just trying to hit a nice little bouncer that releases out to the hole. And I've really been en really been having a lot of success with these kinds of shots. It's just this green is lightning fast. So definitely uh yeah, that was fast. So as it turns out, it wasn't a great spot for me to miss, but we still have a shot at par. Probably about a 15 footer here. Little bit of a right to left and then I think I want to say this tries to come back at the end. We'll see if it does. Um but I think it was definitely a a tough little putt. So comes back and just can't get the juice. How about that? Longest hit in the world. Can't even get a putt to 10 putt to the hole from 15 feet. So, you know, okay, front nine, not the best, but we can still break par on the 10th hole. 462 yards. Wind off the left and uh got one iron in hand. Hit a great T- shot here. Pretty much right up the left side. Prime position. Hard to beat that setup right there. Yeah, we should have not too not much more than I would say 150 yards in. So, you can see pretty much uh one a here. Got a gap wedge in hand and uh just playing a bit of a choked down trap shot. And I've had a lot of success with these shots with uh flighting it down and just you can see just a little bit of a choke down here. Not nothing crazy. Ball back in my stance. Winds hard off the left. So, I'm going to play this to fall to the right a little bit as it's dropping. And this was one of my best shots all day. Just absolute dime. Probably about four or five feet. And uh yeah, if I can do that a lot, we're going to be in business. >> Yeah. Five feet left here. Pin high. About as good as you'll get from back there. Let's see if I can actually make a putt. I'm sure some of you guys are wanting to see me make a putt. So, we'll just go in. I thought this was not going in. I thought that was going to miss on that left side, but >> caught a pretty good piece of the hole. And uh we're in good shape. On to hole 11. Another par five. Wind helping off the left. And I absolutely crank this thing. Just absolutely smoked it. And uh shouldn't have much more than 200 yards left for my second shot. Yeah. >> And we had a good crowd out there. We had a nice little group. So, it was a lot of fun. So, I got uh about 200 yards left and just bleeding it in from the right with a pitching wedge. You guys can see it's blowing pretty good. So, my specialty is when we're downwind. I'm such a good downwind player, it's crazy. So, we got about I'd say about 30 feet here for my eagle. That was a really good putt. Like really good putt. You know, I thought they would come back a little bit, but uh no complaints for me there. Got about back to even. And now we're on to 12 after a nice string of birdies. Replica of the famous par three at Augusta somewhat. >> And uh wind was in off the left. So, this was kind of a funky little shot. Playing a chokedown shot here, trying to flight it down under the wind and uh wasn't a bad shot. It was at the left edge of this green >> and uh just uh missed a little bit left. This was at the left edge of the green and just a fraction too deep. But I thought I thought it was going to catch a piece. So, >> yeah, going to be in an interesting spot here. Got about 20 feet left, but we're in the trap. So, see if I can Yeah, that's a great shot. Well done. So, that was really, really well done from there, showing my short game in all its glory. But again, those are tough shots. When you got to make a short swing with indirect contact, which is what a sand shot is, it's very easy to get uh out of sorts. And you guys can see my stellar camera work here. Um definitely fire in all cylinders with the camera work, with the bunker shot, and with the putting. So, I'm sure you guys are really enjoying this display of sportsmanship and >> athletic ability, plus camera work. This makes me know now why my crew is so good at what they do because I am not good at that. Now we're on to 13. 530 yard par five. And that's what makes golf so hard. You can play great for two holes and have a bad hole and get set back. So right back into the wind here off the right. >> And this is why I really starting to think I should just hit my irons when I'm into the wind. I don't see a huge benefit hitting driver. >> I can hit my irons pretty good with the wind in my face. So, this is just a little right, but nothing wrong with it at all. Still on the fairway and I'm just trying to get a feel for the swing. I'm going to be hitting a flighted shot here. I have about 230 240 right back into the wind. I have a five iron in hand, I believe. And you'll see me choke down on this a decent bit. And I'm just trying to hit something that slices through the wind. And this was just a phenomenal shot. Just absolutely incredible ball flight and never left the flag. But it was flighted too well and uh went long somehow someway. >> But still not a bad not a bad spot. >> Yeah, you can see I was I couldn't believe how well that ball flew under the wind. >> But uh not too far off the green. Maybe five, six yards off the back. So, just a little bump and run here. Just nice slow motion. And uh that was a very good shot. You had to just barely squeak it over that fringe because it was a very quick shot coming back. >> I'm shocked that >> and don't have too much left. Got about two feet or so. And uh believe it or not, I have a good chance of making this. So, back to one over. stone contention to break par. And uh back into the wind here. Straight into the wind. You guys can see those pines. It's definitely blowing pretty good. Probably blowing 15 or so, 15 miles an hour. And uh again, very loud scorecard over these last couple holes. And got the one iron in hand once again. Just trying to flight it down, keep the ball in play. And Hives doing a really good job of hitting these shot, these flighted shots with the one iron, keeping it in play under the wind. Really good one here. Very happy with this shot. Kept it nice and low just left of the trap. And we're going to be rewarded with a flip wedge in probably about a 100 yards or so. >> The only thing that made this a little tough was that we were uphill. Like so I was sitting on an uphill grade. So that definitely made it a little bit trickier. Couldn't really flight it down as much as I would have liked. So straight back into the fan. If you guys look closely at those clouds, you can see how it's not moving much from left to right or right to left. It's just coming right back at us. So was a little late here, unfortunately. So pretty bad miss here. And just a quick side note, I don't know why my brain works like this, but if you guys are ever in a storm and you see a tornado and that tornado is not moving much to the left or much to the right, it is coming at you >> and you better get the heck out of the way. So, I don't know why I felt the need to say that. Maybe it'll save a life one day. Who knows? Probably not. But, uh, honestly, not as far off as I thought it would be. Mostly because it was pin high. So, I have about a 30footer here. Half of it fringe, half of it green, and just trying to get a good roll on this. Went through pretty quickly, but not the worst shot to be honest. Left us about seven, six or seven feet for par. >> And again, if I want to break par, I really need to be making these putts. So, got about, as I said, six or seven feet here. See if you can roll it in. Almost got it to the hole. So yeah, that one was great. Hit the ball 400 yards. You can see I'm just like, why am I like this? Why can't I hit a putt to the hole? But we are now moving on to 15. See if we can make a par. How about that? I think you guys would like to see a par at some point. >> So 15 205 yards win primarily off the right and helping. So have a pitching wedge in hand. We're going to try to bring it in from the right. Trap it a little bit. And I blocked a little bit, but it is coming back. I have found that I hit the maj I hit re I hit the ball really well when I almost allow myself to get stuck in behind it. I don't know why, but hitting those trap draws for some reason I've always hit the ball great when I play that shot. So, I'm still kind of debating whether or not I should try to get it in front more and play a squeeze fade. But, uh I can't really argue with the results. You know, I've been hitting a lot of good shots by letting that club get behind me a bit. So, I have about probably 40 or 50 feet here for my two. Not a terrible spot on a 200 yard hole. So, it's coming in nicely. And uh pretty good speed. Can't complain about that much at all. Still have about three or four feet left here. Would you look at that? Your man made a par. Pretty cool. Hasn't It's been a while. So on hole 16, 492 yards. Again, another hole where you can really just bomb it. Those trees do come in play on the right a bit, but they're really not the worst. And they're not the worst place in the world to be. You want to try to start this just right of that trap and play a hammer draw. Um wind coming at us from the left a little bit, but again, just was a little late, a little little blocky on it. And uh hit it into those trees. Again, not the worst spot, but uh definitely would have been nice to hit a towering draw that worked off of those trees. >> Pretty open. >> Kind of explaining good. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah, he's just he's just checking where everything is, but uh this is a really tough shot because the the green runs away from you a ton. I do have a wide open lane at this pin and I got a pitching wedge in hand. I have about 100 150 yards, maybe 130 yards. I play a chip that just gets over that that uh fairway. You guys are going to see this here. It just keeps rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and it eventually rolls off the back, which is just insane. [laughter] I am such a freaking drama queen. Oh man, I'm actually apologizing for throwing the club. I felt bad when he started going to get it. I was just >> I was so frustrated. I thought that was going to be like a foot away. I really did. But that green was just so fast front to back. So it just ended up rolling through the rolling through the green. But uh took care of business with this beautiful chip back up to about a foot, maybe less. So still walked out with a par. So yeah, there's my short game. I think that's a great way to to define my short game. Like I'm either going to hit it to a foot or leave it a foot away from where I just hit it. >> So on to 17. Still in contention and break par. Just got to have a good couple holes to finish out. This was playing back into the wind. It was a really tough yardage for me with it being a headwind off the right because m can't probably can't quite get it there with the one iron, but driver's definitely going to be too much and you don't want to go long. So, blocked it out to the right a little bit into those pines. But it ended up not being the worst thing in the world actually. And so I have a little bit of a punch shot here. What I'm going to be doing here is trying to >> What I'm going be doing here is trying to play it under those trees. You can see the pen. If you look at my nose, that's the flag stick just to the right of my nose. And I have a big nose. Geez. So, let me try and get this up and down. Get my birdie. But not a terrible shot here. Was able to get it to scoot on up to the hole. So, got myself about a 30 40 footer here. So, first things first, get back out of trouble. I was able to do that. >> Here we are sizing it up. >> Got it looks like about 25 ft. So, it's definitely makeable. >> I mean, >> you can see we're trying to to figure out >> how this bud's breaking. I hope you guys don't mind. I left a little bit of as you as you guys can see, I left a little bit of extra footage in the beginning and end. I thought I don't know. It might be a little more immersive, but uh not exactly the movie maker, so I could definitely be wrong, but figured I'd give it a shot. So putt looked like it was really going to do it and uh just didn't quite pan out >> sideways, >> but still not a bad putt. So we're going to go an 18 plus two and we need something really good to happen if we want to break par >> or at least shoot par. So yeah, 500 yard par4 back into a 15 to 20 mph wind. So nothing hard there. But uh yeah, going to be hitting a one iron. And I actually, you can tell I abandoned the strategy of hitting driver into the wind because it was just just wasn't working that day. Pull this one a little left. There is room left. So, one good thing was it was very low, >> so it cut through that wind pretty good. I have a pretty awkward shot here. I'm going to be standing in pine straw, but hitting from a different terrain than I'm standing in, which is always kind of weird. So, I'm just trying I got about probably 200 yards here. Just trying to scoot it up around the green once again, right into the fan a little right to left. You can see I'm choking down to try to give myself equilibrium with the ball being above my stance and just hit a squeezer out there. And I hit a pretty good shot here. just kept turning, kept turning, kept turning and ended up down in that slope. Got me in my eye pretty bad there, too. But yeah, you can see not exactly optimal. Not the ideal spot to be here. So, just trying to bounce it into that bank, get it to scoot up. This grain was really strong. And uh actually not a bad shot at all. You know, it just took a bit of a firm bounce there, but pretty solid. We got about >> about a fivefooter here. >> And yeah, if you guys could subscribe, that would be amazing. These tees stretch all the way out to 7,552 yards, and they completely change the way this course plays. Tiger didn’t leave many scoring opportunities out there, so every shot matters.
