Super High End Golf Course in Bangkok 🇹🇭 Siam Country Club Bangkok

57 courses in Bangkok. Yeah, I know the score. When destiny comes knocking at my door. Welcome back to Farang Golf. Today it’s the seventh episode of me playing all the courses here in Bangkok, Thailand. And this one is a special treat. Today we are playing Siam Country Club Bangkok which is little bit pricier course and unfortunately I cannot afford to play these type of courses all the time but I was quite lucky to secure a special deal and for that reason I had a chance to come and play the course but let’s talk about the price a little bit later. Siam Country Club Bangkok is the fifth course out of Siam Country Club courses. The other courses are closer to Pataya and around Pataya area, but this one is next to Subuanaboom airport. All the five SAM country club courses are owned by Sai Motors crew, which is manufacturing Nissan cars here in Thailand. And you will see glimpses of those factories beside the course today when we play here. This Bango course is the newest course in Siam Country Club family. It’s been only open for 3 years now. So, brand new course in review today and my expectations are super high. So, let’s start the review and go and check out the clubhouse. First, unorthodoxically, we head straight to the locker rooms. And when we enter the hallway leading to the locker rooms, you are already given a promise that this day is going to be something special. The hallway is quite stunning yet maintaining some oriental vibes and absolutely nails the job it has to elevate your expectations for the day to come. Entering the actual locker room, first thing I notice is the smell. It smells good in in the locker rooms. Just like when you enter a nice five-star hotel, they use their own perfume or scent in the locker rooms to make you feel calm and nice there. The locker room is absolutely stunning. I really, really like the style here. It’s also super clean. I couldn’t find anything to nag about. The shower cabinets are clean and huge. They even have conditioner here. Not that I need it for my thin hair, but at least they have it here. And the shampoo and body wash smells really good as well. So, they have paid attention to the detail here. I like that they have utilized older call of gloves as decorative pieces in the locker rooms. And and I even found Gino Title’s old picture on the wall hanging here. I guess he would be shy about it nowadays, but and your amenities as well. Never leave the locker room without checking the amenities. Then it’s time to go and check out the restaurant. It was early early morning when I arrived at the golf course. So the restaurant, like so many other courses as well, was still operating with the breakfast menu. I opted out for a club sandwich and it was good but didn’t take the top spot when it comes to club sandwiches. The Springfield in Huahin holds that spot. The club sandwich was supreme over there. Other than the club sandwich and coffee I had for breakfast. The restaurant fulfills all the expectations. The staffs are great. The menu is extensive but little bit pricey but you would expect it to be a little bit more pricey on these higherend courses. So that’s understandable. During the round, we had a small bet when two losers needed to pay the two winners lunch after the round. Yours truly was unfortunately on the paying side of the bet, but that’s okay. I got to try the crap mukrop and it was really good. Overall, old course, as the restaurant was named, was really nice experience. I got to have great breakfast and lunch there, and the staffs were really helpful throughout the day. The standard of the clubhouse stays high. As we enter to the pro shop, it is surprising to me how little you actually need to do in order to make something like pro shop stand out and and look inviting and nice. I don’t think it’s cost related matter whether you have really nice pro shop or less appealing one. It’s more about management. If you look at this pro shop at the Siam Country Club, it looks really nice. And what they have really done there differently from other courses is to present the shoes nicely and put some RGBs there and and all the rest of the goods in the pro shop are also just neatly presented. There’s no gimmicks there. And I don’t think they have put any more money into the pro shop than the older courses, let’s say. So it’s just more about the will to make it look a little bit nicer than actually putting too much money on it. So yeah, I was really pleased with the pro shop. It was inviting and everything looked fresh here. I even remember to check for the rental clubs and ask the lovely ladies in the pro shop for them and they were little bit hesitant to tell me that the cost is 2,500 B for a set. But the actual clubs were downstairs next to the starter. So I I ran there to check the club situation for you guys. The price of 2,500 B for a set of rental clubs is quite horrendous here in Thailand. But yeah, the sets are quite nice. They have newer tideless sets. And then they had some Callaways and tailor mates as well and clubs for left-handed players and ladies too. So good variety of sets but not the same level as let’s say Santi in Kosamui where you pay thousand B less and get huge variety of top clubs. Overall I think the clubhouse pro shop and restaurant were high quality as expected. Regarding the practice facilities, they have potting and jeeping areas here, but they don’t have actual driving range. They have these heating bays which you can utilize to warm up, but no real driving range, which is a small minus for this price level course. Let’s then head to the course. And as you can see, it had been raining, so it was no carts on the fairways. The course promotes itself as a links hybrid course, and I think it is spoton description of the course. It was quite windy at some parts. The greens were quite huge and there was plenty of impossible bunkers to get out of. So yeah, I I guess even though I’m not a Lynx expert, I guess it was kind of a Lynx hybrid course. The wind was in play most of the time and I think it might be also due to the fact that this course is so new. As you can see on the most of the footage here, the trees are quite young. So if you come back here in let’s say 5 years time, I think the course will improve tremendously. Not to say that there was something wrong with the course. It was absolutely beautiful course and I enjoyed every whole of it. But I would say that it will get even better when it ages a little bit. It was a rainy day and I was determined not to wear my Australian hat to cover myself from the sun. And obviously it didn’t rain anymore during the round and the sun peaked few times during the day and I burnt my face completely. So that was stupid of me. But yeah, you live and learn, I guess. Due to rain, the course was a little bit on the softer side. And I think it was multiple times for each of us that we needed to unblock our ball from the fairway and and clean it up and move it a little bit from the watery spot on the fairway. But that’s okay. That happens when it’s the rainy season. So don’t let that affect your mood or game play. The greens had been sanded while ago, so maybe the greens were just a little bit slower than normally, but it was no issue for me. I was biting quite okay, but since the greens are so huge, I I had multiple three butts on the course. So how much did it hurt to play here? I got a awesome deal. So paid only 3,500 B for green fee caddy and cart which is I guess almost half the price for normal weekday price and if you come and play here during the weekend and especially high season I think the green fee caddy and card prices might be all the way up to 8,000 9,000 even. So yeah that was pretty good deal and for that price I would prefer to come and play here every single time. So 3,500 for a course that is relatively close to Bangkok and and at this quality and level is a brilliant deal. Caddy interview. [Music] What’s What’s your name? My name. Nanny. How old are you? Nanny. 33. 33. Yes. Young lady. And how long you’ve been carrying? Um 14 14 years. Yes. And and now at the Siam Country Club. And before before where? Um Pinehurst. Pinehurst. Yes. Only night golf and only drinking. Yes. Dinking every day. And drinking today also. Yes. Today. Uh today same. Okay. Okay. You play golf yourself? Yes. Um eight year. Eight years. So you better than me 100%. What What is your handicap? Um, I think 18. 18. Yeah, you’re better than me. Really? Yeah. Okay. Cheers. Then it’s time to talk about the caddies in general on the course. I obviously pre-ooked my caddy through the Golfland application, which is a handy app that allows you to see and book caddies on all Thailand golf courses. Since the caddies are compulsory here in Thailand, why not be smart and and choose a caddy of your liking to come and spend the day or evening with you on the course. Through the Golfland app, you get to see all the available caddies on each Thailand golf course. So, check out the link in description and register for free to the Golfland application and and start searching for the perfect caddy to your next round of golf here in Thailand. I was the only one to pre-book a caddy for this round of golf. But my caddy was so super nice that she secretly handpicked her friends and nice caddies to my friends as well. So win-win and win-win there. Overall, it’s hard for me to believe that on this course you could have bad caddies. So I I saw a bunch of other caddies on the course and they all looked like they knew what they were doing and and there was lots of cute caddies there in the mix as well. What about the value for money when it comes to the Siam Country Club? I think obviously I had a great deal paying three and a half thousand B for the round including the car and cart, but that is not the case normally. Of course, if I was loaded like Basos, I would be playing this and and other expensive courses constantly. But since that is not an option, I think it’s a rare treat for me or anybody in the same situation to come and try out these courses. They are magnificent and the courses in top condition and the facilities are are miles ahead of the cheaper courses, but it’s not something you you can have every day unfortunately. So yeah, value for money was there for me this round, but I think for let’s say 67,000 B, for a pop, I would maybe prefer to play two rounds on another course. You probably wouldn’t believe what stands out the most regarding the course and experience in my mind now couple days after the round. It’s the scent in the locker rooms. It’s the shampoo in the shower. It’s the high-grade napkin in the restaurant on your plate. It’s the management’s ability to pay attention to the details. Of course, it’s a AAA course and you are expecting everything to be AAA and and yeah, the course delivers, but it’s the smaller things that they do well that actually made it memorable for me. Siam Country Club Bangkok takes the justified top spot on my list after seven played courses. In the next video, we’re going to be playing Nikanti Golf Club allincclusive golf experience. And I have a feeling that that course might be even higher quality. So, subscribe to the channel to stay tuned for that. 1. 8000 baht !!! not a course I'll be playing. My guess is they don't want a lot of players on the course. There's a lot of other good courses in Thailand ,for a far more reasonable price.

  2. Nice course and caddies. The price seems a little steep – you mentioned a few times you got a great deal, but didn’t share any details with us poor Farangs! I’m sure Riverdale is on your list – to me a far superior course for the money. Thanks once again I look forward to all your reviews 🙏🏻

  3. 2:40 for the Ear Cleaners Shot 😂

How did you score that price ??

Also did you go as a single and they paired you up or you go in a group ??

Looks a lovely course and I will have to give it a run sometime soon regardless of the price

  4. Great review as usual… Nikanti is great and looking forward to get your review on that. I want to start using Golf Land App, but do you know what is up with some of the caddies quoting 2-3.000 bath tip (I even saw one for 10,000 thb) – do you just negotiate with them ?

  5. Hi Harri, Played here in Nov 2024 on a weekday, had paid around 4000 plus baht, do not remember the exact amount. Yes, it is a costly course, due to which our group skipped the restaurant. But, it is an excellent course with a fantastic club house ! If i recollect it is a new Golf course…..is it not ? Thanks a lot for rewinding memories and HAPPY GOLFING.

  6. Hey let me known if u have time for playing with me at the most luxury n private member only course in bangkok.

  7. Good condition and new but not that Super High end. The only one "Super" High end for me in Thailand is Stone Hill 🙂 .

  8. Thai golf over priced,a rip off at 8000baht then be caddie fee, even in rural areas golf courses in Thailand are way over priced, one thing I shocked when I came to Thailand compared to my home country.Average course in home country was $20 here in Thailand $50 then extra for have have tail along caddie.

  9. I lived in Pattaya for over a year. I did not see One golf course anywhere. 2 driving ranges, But no courses at all.

  10. All this nonsense about golf in Thailand overpriced. I have played Nickanti, Thai country, Siam, Chee Chan, Laem Chabang, Suwan and many more. I have a driver pick me up and return, amazing facilities, courses world class, great service and the list goes on. While the prices are at the top end I challenge anyone to make a comparison anywhere in Europe for the price and experience.
