Do This Before Every Shot – The Justin Rose Drill for Effortless Striking
This has to be one of my most favorite rehearsal drills you can do in golf. So, this exercise is all inspired by Justin Rose’s rehearsal exaggerated swings where he gets the hands very low to the ground before impacting that delivery position. The reason why this is so good, if you do that, the hands work down which create what we call hand reaction force. So, allow you to start using the ground better by getting your hands lower. Most leaf golfers, the hands return to a lower position in delivery than they are at a dress. Most amateur golfers, the hands return to a higher position in delivery than address. So where we get these hands working down and as a reference point somewhere around about your kneecap, this allows the rib cage then to work more downwards rather than rotating forward creating that out to in swing path and steep plane. Simply just by practicing swing at the top of your back swing, working the hands as low as you can right about your kneecap as a rehearsal. And when you hit the ball, try and let that influence your normal swing.
