There’s currently a golf swing on tour that looks better than Rory Maroy’s. This is Marco Pen. He has won three times on the DP World Tour this year, and I’ve never seen a more prettier yet powerful swing than his. But here’s one thing that Marco does that we can learn from. Marco lifts his thumb off the grip before his swing to prevent the club face from closing too early and to take tension out of his trail hand. This is called the flying thumb. This will help you feel the club to be more on the trail palm instead of yanking and getting the club steep. Just take the thumb off and really set the club into the trail hand. And you’ll be surprised to see how much you’re on the plane in the back swing and down swing. [Music]

  1. I had to do this after i slammed my thumb in a car door. First round doing it i shot my lowest round ever 😂. I think it also helped that i was expecting to play bad so i wasnt overthinking everything but yeah, no thumb from then on 😂

  9. The secret of the flying thumb for me is the let the thumb back on the handle as I start my down swing, feels so good I don’t even think about it when I swing anymore

  20. I have no choice I have to do that… I have a plate in my right wrist so the only way is to take my thumb off,,, but it’s not a pretty swing lol😂😂😂😂

  28. Rorys swing is to perfect to compare. Without him in the picture i really like adam scott and tommy fleetwood. Marcos swing hurts my body and im not even swinging

  29. Saying his swing is better than McIlroy, in any way, visually or technically, just shows how little you know about the game. Please stop.

  35. I’ve been doing this on accident for the last 6years or so due to a blister I once had. Never made the connection to it keeping the club on plane.
