So the AIG Women’s Open champion first to play and the breeze now a little off the right for these players. Likes to hit a draw mesh and that’s what it’s doing. I don’t think she can get home from there here in regulation. And that breeze off the right will help her. Just turn it a little right to left. Get a little more distance. Would be nice if she could get it down that left side. Bit of thunder rumbles. Oh, that is miles left again. Not only is that going to be an awkward stance, she could well be completely blocked out by the trees down that left side. Looks like a good strike for Hannah. Right down the middle. Not quite as far. 250 to the flag. 232 to the front left is the number she’s looking at. I just watched a warm up hitting four or five of these shots. She hits a low flat draw. or she could chase it up close. It’s a good strike. It’s towards that front left, but it’s going to be short. All she could give at the world number six. We must remind ourselves. Soon, she’s a rookie on tour. Aiming towards the 10th T. Needs to hit it about 110. It is the smallest target over there where she’s had to play. It’s missed the actual teen ground itself, but it’s okay. It’s just slight downs slope. Five wood, 20 ft left of the flag is her target. Let’s come out high and straight at it. Does it have the legs? It doesn’t cuz right now bunker is really in a wet condition. So that just made Hannah’s ball being plugged. You guys working from there? Good strike. It’s about 6 ft left of the flag. That’s a terrific shot under the circumstances. It is. I think just sometimes you better not to have a target with you. That just makes you relax more and you’re able to [Applause] feeling the occasion, feeling the heat and the moment. the rookie a major champion already this year. 14 professional wins under her belt already at the age of 24. What can she deliver right now? Has to go. [Applause] Probably Hzin has closer birdie chance than Mio Yamashita. His hard stick the club in the ground. I think the back swing is not on the green in three. And that must be deeply frustrating for her. Alli, she had an absolute ripper of a drive down the middle. It was only just over 215 yds in with the second distance. Not a problem. Fourth shot now for Green. That was heavy-handed. The other two aren’t guaranteed they’re birdies. And a look of despair. is for birdie number one on tour from 10 to 15 ft. That was 20 ft and in it goes. What a brilliant time to strike. A birdie for the world number six. And the pressure firmly on the shoulders of Hjin Choy for birdie to extend the playoff and send them back to the 18th T. Miss it and the title is with Mu Yamashta. Well, agony for Herin Cho Mu Yamashta comes from eight shots back and the rookie from Japan is a winner in Malaysia. The May Bank Championship winner for 2025, Yu Yamashta. What a final day for so many reasons. A flawless performance throughout regulation and a flawless park so young on the green there for the title. Oh my god. It has been tightest race I’ve ever seen this week this year so far. The Japanese stuck around. It was an easy part to make from Mashita’s champion, but there was lengthy part to make especially at the playoff. A double break up no less. warmer applause out there in a round of 65.2. She knew that might just be the moment that sealed it. So many Japanese fans were waiting for Mu Yamashita to grab the trophy. It’s phenomenal that a lot of the spectators still stay. We’ve been waiting for a long time. Isn’t that a testament to how the Maybang Championship continues to grow in its third edition? It’s been dramatic every time. So, it is. Oh, if we think about two years back, there was a quite a conclusion we have witnessed here at the May Bank Championship. And I’m delighted to welcome our presentation party. To my immediate left, we have the May Bank president and group CEO Yang Burbah, Datosri Kyali Ramley. And on our far left, the May Bank chairman Yang Burbah, Tanri Zamzam Zarami, Muhammad Issa. It’s been a wonderful conclusion and we finally have a winner in a rookie from Japan. Absolutely brilliant. You have been throughout the course of this week rallying from eight shots back. Would you please hear it for Mu Yamashta? And Tanrey, would you please be good enough to present the magnificent Maybank Tiger to our winner in 2025? Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together. Let’s hear a big roar and a big cheer for Mu Yamashta. Special scenes there with you, Miu, you mashed up. Post the number for those behind her to chase. An all important piece of the puzzle for her here in the final round chase. They did, but they came up shy. That of Hannah Green and Hedgein Choy. But there’s plenty more still to come from the Asian swing. The LPGA marches to Kyoto next week. We’ll see you then.

Japan’s Miyu Yamashita captured the title at the Maybank Championship 2025 after a thrilling playoff finish. It was a dramatic final round battle that came down to the very last putt, as Yamashita held her nerve to secure the victory.
