ジャスティン・トーマスがツアー選手にとって過酷なコースを作る方法を明かす!

How has the golf course changed the last three days? The greens have been soft all three days, but it’s been score very different scoring conditions obviously. Uh yeah, it’s it’s obviously been very different. I mean, Thursday was as easy as we were going to get this place. Um you know, thought the pins weren’t set up very difficult. We didn’t have very much wind. You know, the fairways were firm, so the ball was going a mile and then the greens were soft. So, that’s uh that’s a pretty good recipe for for us shooting low scores. And then obviously yesterday was what it was. And so that presented a different challenge. And then today with the wind, I mean, it just was one of those uh one of those days. I mean, it seemed like it was, you know, it was it was obviously very cold this morning and windy uh in the morning and it kind of, you know, slowed down a little bit there maybe the last three holes or so. Um but yeah, it just was very gusty and they require different almost like strategies or mindset I’d say each day. Aside from the conditions yesterday, I think people are going to be a little surprised that the scoring didn’t get as low as maybe some people thought at the beginning of the week. Do you think the golf How do you think the golf course kind of fought back if so to say? Uh, I’d say the weather did. Um, I mean, it’s it’s not fair to to, you know, say that this course is is too easy or too hard if uh, you know, given the certain conditions. You could say that about a lot of places. I mean, if if if this place had proper long rough and if it the greens were firm and fast, like it would be it’d be a tough challenge for us. I mean, they would need to pinch in the fairway some, too. But, um, that’s just that’s I’ve I’ve said that for years now. I mean, the biggest difference for us is soft greens. So, when the greens are soft, we can always, you know, salvage decent. And then, uh, you know, if we don’t have days like yesterday or wind like today, we’re we’re going to shoot low. He said on

In this eye-opening clip, Justin Thomas shares his thoughts on how to make golf courses more challenging for the pros — and it’s not about adding more yardage. Instead of stretching layouts to ridiculous lengths, JT explains smarter, more strategic ways to test the best players in the world.

💬 Hear Justin talk about:
✅ Course design that rewards precision
✅ The importance of firm, fast conditions
✅ Why longer isn’t always better
✅ How to protect classic tracks from being overpowered

Could this be the solution to the distance debate? JT’s take might just change how you look at course setup forever.

  1. I totally agree with this! There is not point in making courses longer and longer just so a handful of golfers may be challenged on par fives of extraordinary length! Aside from the length issue it is also economically and agriculturally bad. I am sure there are many scientists and economists who can back this question up! Finally there is a significant part of the population who are against such developments which is fundamentally unsustainable!

  2. The big mistake tournament organisers made was trying to “Tiger proof” their golf courses by making them longer and longer. This backfired completely, giving Tiger even more of an advantage. Courses need to force players to think and invent rather than simply bomb!

  3. Make fairways 5 yards wide, grow out the rough, speed up the greens, add random high powered fans around the tee box

  4. The tagline on the thumbnail might be mid-interpreted by some. In other words, Pfizer did not post this video.
