THIS is Tiger Woods’ Most UNDERRATED Swing Move!
There’s one area of Tiger’s swing that I obsess over and I think it’s one of his X factors that made him incredible and actually made him so consistent and that is the structure of his swing. If you look at Tiger swing from basically any era, okay, his structure, meaning his arms here, okay, was impeccable. There was just no excess movement. He was never narrow or crunched up or there was slack in the arms. You just look at the beauty of the width and everything and the grace in his motion. And it came down to being militant over structure. And this is one area of my swing that I realized was terrible and why I was having so many problems. So in April 2024 when Ryan, my coach, took over the swing, this was the first thing we obsessed over and built in. And it is something I have been obsessed over since. And I think it’s a combination of working on it here and also working on it in the gym. And so I’m going to take you through today how I think this helps not only just improve, you know, the quality of your strike, but also actually improve the quality of your bad strikes. So here’s how I swing now. Okay? And I’ll give you a little before and after. So this is keeping militant on the structure, staying wide, staying connected. little out to the right, but we’re on the green and from this distance to this pin. That’s great. Okay. Now, my old swing, the way I used to swing is I would collapse my arms and like throw them at the bottom. Okay. So, here’s like an example. Yeah. And that would be the result. Like huge pull left or I’d flare it right. Right. And under the gun, that’s just not sustainable. And so what this allows you to do is that it just you just get better strikes as a result of having less club face manipulation. And I think that’s why Tiger was able to kind of beat people just more often is because he was his body was physically ready. His structure was so good that even if he had a poor strike, his misses just weren’t as severe. And this is something I’ve obsessed over into building into my game. I have spent I spent years watching Tiger highlights, as I’m sure many of us have, and just looking at his swing and trying to understand like why is he so good? And this is one area in particular that I think marries his physical capabilities and his technical capabilities. And I think people don’t obsess over this enough. And I think that’s why there’s so much inconsistency. There’s just no way you’re going to be consistent trying to time it up with all this flailing going on. And if you look at his swing, there’s just no flailing. It’s just unreal motion. And even me, like I’ve obsessed over this and I still have stupid stuff I do, but it gets better the more and more I focus on getting into the gym and maintaining this structure and being absolutely militant with it. So hopefully this helps you guys. This is something I’m going to continue to work on. I think is one of my kind of X factors on my path to pro. And so hopefully this helps you because it’s worked absolute wonders for me, my game, and my ball striking. 100% agree. Recently been working on keep my right arm straight for a tad longer, and keeping my hands far away from my head, ie. more width. It's done wonders for driver and irons are a lot more consistent
