Rory McIlroy’s conversation with Justin Thomas speaks volumes of Ryder Cup controversy

Rory Mroy and his wife Erica Stole were targeted at the RDER Cup. Justin Thomas has lifted a lid on the conversation he had with Rory Mroy at the RDER Cup after the team Europe star and his family were targeted by rowdy fans. Mroy was the subject of homophobic abuse while his partner Erica stole had a beer can throw in a hurt. Mroy and his 12 strong European side got the last laugh. However, retaining their title at Beth Paige Black and claiming their first win on American soil since the miracle of Medina in 2021. But much of the controversy in New York stem from an American crowd that had been riled up by their own players and even a host who quit their role after leading chance against Mroy. Thomas, considered a friend of Mroy, did his part to amp up the home supporters as they attempted to overturn a huge Sunday deficit. He has since insisted that no person’s safety was in danger, but did admit that he felt for Mroy and Shane Lowry as they walked the course to hordes of abuse. There were some things said and yeah, Cam Young and I said to Shane and Rory yesterday that we felt for them. It was unfortunate. Cam and I just wish that we gave them something to cheer for instead of people cheer against. That was kind of the main consensus of the last two days that we weren’t giving them enough to cheer for and they were just trying to help us win. I guess that’s a New York fans for you. Mroy has come out praising his wife Erica who did not mention to the rest of the team that she had confth thrown at her but lamented such actions taking place at a tournament with the prestige of the Rder Cup.
