Brooks Koepka Leaves No Stone Unturned as Frustrating Struggles Continue to Haunt Him
It’s been very irritating, said Brooks Kepka earlier this year when he struggled with his performance at the majors. However, now after 3 months, the struggle for the once five-time major champion is still the same, continuing in the DPWT. But despite that setback, the golfer is aiming for redemption with the help of a professional and his extra efforts on the course. After missing the cut at the Amzen Irish Open in BMW PGA Championship for which he had received invites, the golfer was seen practicing his weak links. Kepka at the Irish Open changed to a new Scotty Cameron Fastback 1.5 putter, replacing his old Scotty Cameron Terillium Tour Newport 2. He expressed disappointment with his previous one, hence the change. But now, despite the change, the results aren’t coming his way. The golfer struggled with short putts. And to improve that, he has taken the help of his coaches. After the two missed cuts, the golfer was seen practicing with Pete Cowins, his short game coach, and Jeff Pierce, pudding coach. For his shortcomings, he shared the distress, “I haven’t really made anything inside 8 ft, which has been the bread and butter my whole career. It goes through your whole game at that point.” Initially this year the golfer experienced ups and downs with his putting achieving a stroke gain of plus 1.91 in Singapore where he finished runner up but after that the graph has declined and with his Irish open performance it has reached minus 3.32 in strokes game putting this year kept missed cuts in three majors excluding the US Open where he was T12 and now his struggles at the 72 hole four round event continue. At the Amzen Irish Open, he scored 71 and then 80, which led him to miss the cut. While a similar case was at the BMW PGA Championship, where he struggled in the first round with 75 and then tried redemption with 68. However, the golfer failed to make the cut for the second consecutive event.
