Jack Nicklaus Breaks Down Scottie Scheffler’s Golf Swing! ✅
Jack, um, a lot of people online and on TV love to make comparisons between your golf swing and Scotty Sheffller’s golf swing. Uh, do you see the resemblance there? And if so, like what do you like about Scotty’s golf swing? And does it remind it of you? Well, I don’t think there’s a whole lot of resemblance as well. Well, the swing path is Scotty’s is very good. And I felt like my swing path was pretty good. Johnny’s swing path was very good, but most good players swing path is good. Uh Scotty has an unusual way of of coming into the ball and having his right foot slide behind him. But that evidently allows him to get his right hip, not into the shot, but out of the way and allows him to stay hands close to the close to his body and and and swing down a plane. Uh you know, I that was my one of my keys is always get my hands as close to my body as I could. I mean, I I remember Byron Nelson when I went to see him years ago, Jack Grout sent me down to see and Byron made one statement. He says, “I don’t believe you could ever have your hands too close to your body as you swing.” And you know, I felt like that’s getting your arms and hands underneath you swing. "That "evidently" allows him"… When the greatest golfer of all time doesn't know why a specific golf swing works, then I would have to say nobody does.
I noticed that too. His right foot doesn’t stay planted but as long as the club face is square on impact, it doesn’t matter.
Upright swings..both Nicklaus and Scheffler…Johnny Miller too… still Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan were much much much much more popular than Nicklouse. Nicklouse was a slow, grouchy player.
