Brooks Koepka’s nightmare goes from bad to worse after telling Ryder Cup admission
Brooks Kepka faces another set back at Irish Open. Brooks Kepker’s challenging year continued at the Irish Open as he missed the cut following a tough second round at the K club. After an encouraging one underpar 71 on Thursday, Kepka shot an eight over par 80 on Friday, leaving him 19 shots behind leader Yakim Lagrren and seven shots off the cut line. The five-time major champion has struggled throughout 2025, failing to make the cut at the Masters, PGA Championship, and Open Championship and going winless on live golf. Kepker admitted that poor putting has hurt his game and acknowledged that his form prevented him from making Keegan Bradley’s Rder Cup team. In contrast, Rory Mroy remains in contention with a six under par 66, sitting at seven under for the tournament and just five shots behind the leaders as the weekend approaches. He left the real tour to join the lucrative and cushy LIV circus. Have you been to a LIV show? Loud music everywhere, poor catering. Once was enough for me.
It’s hard to contain my joy at Koepka’s decline from overrated to his proper place in the trash heap of golf history. I wish the same for all those who abandoned the real tour for the nonsense and failure of LIV.
