Daniel Berger’s TAKE on Mid-2010s Jordan Spieth | On the Bag with Dan Rapaport

Right. [Music] Right. It’s Jordan always like Golden Child. He was the luckiest golfer I’ve ever played with for a long time. And I feel like it’s come back to level. Guys have said that where they’re like, “Dude, this guy would hole out like more than I’ve ever seen anyone hole out.” Which, yeah, obviously you’re hitting good shots, but maybe there’s like a little element of fortune there. There was a stat that I used to remember I’d look at. He was number one on tour from putts made from like 25 ft. He was making twice as many putts as the number two guy. That’s ridiculous. Like, you’re making twice as many putts as the second best putter from 25 ft. Like, that means every time he’s hitting the green, he’s got like a 25% chance of making the putt. Yes.

This mid-2010s Spieth stat still gets Daniel Berger fired up. 😆

The intersection of golf and culture.

Behind every drained putt or hosel rocket into the stands is a human being with complex emotions—among them, an insatiable appetite for golf. That’s what we’re after. Golf’s humanity is what makes it so special to us. There have never been more reasons to love this game, and we’re endeavoring to explore them all.

  1. Jordan is certainly struggling this year, he isnt very long off the t, not super accurate with the irons. His stength is scrambling and putting, so if the putter isnt hot, hes not playing well at all. I hope he makes a comeback
