2003 ADAM SCOTT vs TIGER WOODS SWING BREAKDOWN #golf #tiger #shorts #tigerwoods #shots
2003 Adam Scott and Tiger Woods, both coached by Butch Harmon, share a fundamentally similar golf swing, particularly in their driver swings, with both exhibiting wide, flowing, and rhythmic motions. However, there are subtle differences in their setups, swing planes, and release patterns.
Setup:
Ball Position: Tiger tends to have the ball more in the middle of his stance, while Adam positions it slightly towards the heel.
Pelvic Tilt: Adam is generally more tilted with his pelvis than Tiger.
Hand Position: Adam carries his hands higher in his backswing, generating speed, while Tiger’s swing is a bit more on plane
Backswing:
Takeaway:
Both players have a takeaway where the club head is outside their hands, squared to the backline.
Right Forearm Supination:
Tiger’s right forearm is less supinated than Adam’s, who is more supinated.
Wrist Set:
Adam sets his wrists more due to his supinated forearm, while Tiger has less wrist set.
Swing Length:
Adam’s swing is slightly longer at the top with his right arm more behind his body, while Tiger’s is shorter and wider with a straighter left arm.
Downswing:
Downswing Motion:
Tiger drives everything down with his head moving downwards, while Adam’s motion is more fluid.
Shaft Plane:
Tiger’s shaft is more linear with less shallowing, while Adam’s is shallower.
Shaft Angle:
Adam’s right elbow is lower than his left, resulting in a shallower shaft plane.
Hip Rotation:
Adam rotates more through his hips and his shaft is more laid behind him in the downswing.
Impact and Release:
Impact Position: Tiger is more face-on, while Adam is more rotated.
Hands Through Impact: Tiger has more active hands through the release, while Adam’s is less pronounced due to his rotation.
Shaft Exit: Adam’s shaft exits more left, while Tiger’s is over his left shoulder.
Finish Position: Tiger’s shaft is more horizontal at the finish, while Adam’s is more vertical
Just shows that being great and good is more based on mental game in golf.
That’s just a driver swing…. Doesn’t even compare to iron play (Tiger best all time) and clutch putting….. just stating the obvious
There’s more to golf than a pretty swing. The scorecard only knows a number.
Scot's hips dip… Tiger's are more rotational on a even plain… Similar tempo but hardly the same swing… Take back also on different plain… Also Scot has more wrist brake in first part of back swing… Tiger hardly has any….
Ummm short game
There is also putting!
I have the same hip rotation but my shoulders don’t allow me to get my hands anywhere near that high. My back would snap in half
