We all have our own favourite player, sometimes it can 'rose tint' our view on their shall we say greatest. Jack Nicklaus is without question my favourite player not only because he won more Majors than anyone else, not only because he finnished second more times than anybody, he is my favourite because to me his achievements are secondary to the fact he was / is the Number One Gentleman in the game. Winning and finishing second is to me about 65% of a Measurement to greatness, jack also had the other 35% (the greatest gentleman), thats why to me it makes him the greatest complete player.. One we should all respect and try to copy…. In every way and not just holding a club..
My dad always had golf on TV back in the 1970's when I was a little kid. I was always hearing "And here's Jack Nicklaus….." over and over again. So I said to my dad "That Nicklaus guy must be pretty good." My dad was like "Pretty good? Hah! He's the best!"
