What a load of drivel.
As an Englishman my favourite Irish players was Christie O’Connor Snr. I remember a story where O’Connor senior was playing a young pro. They both hit their second shots into the green. The young pro asked senior what club he used. Senior said a five iron to which the young pro said he’d used a seven iron. Senior then proceeded to hit the green with every club in his bag including the putter.
