  1. Hitting short runners off the toe where it’s dead to improve consistency and contact was super valuable. Anything that helps make the game simpler and more consistent is pure gold! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!

  2. Thank you for giving back, Phil. These techniques are very difficult to find on YouTube. I just saved this video to my Playlist.

  3. Thanks for this. I am a lefty and learned all my short game tricks from you. I used to use a camcorder to record you on tv hitting flops and rewatch it in slow motion repeatedly till I could replicate the shot! This is amazing and will help myself and soooo many other people!

  4. I am a Golf Teacher, and this was an absolute masterclass from the greatest wedge player to ever exist. Thank you for this resource!!

  5. Absolutely, one of the BEST short game instructional videos EVER!
Phil is a BRAINIAC with his short game in a very positive way and he expresses it so beautifully.

  6. Great video! I was really missing this knowledge and I know not having it is costing me strokes. Now I have something to practice that could easily shave 3-5 strokes in any given round. Thank you Phil!!!!

  7. I just practiced the basic technique you shared in this video and I hit the best chip shots of my life. It’s very easy to use this method of opening the club face and playing it off the back foot with your weight on the forward foot. Excellent !! It’s very easy to control the distance 30 yards and in because the ball lands so softly with minimal roll out using a 60 degree. 💪🏽Thanks Phil!!

  8. Am I the only one who thinks the ball isn’t off the back foot? It just looks like Phil points his back foot at the ball. But from the camera angle it looks like the ball is actually forward.

  9. Thank you, I was busy with these things (study cases) last months and came to similar approaches/tips but I still do not use much the opened face that you explained very well. I will do because it will for sure give me more options for the distance control as my balls come good now in most cases but a bit too hot sometime. About an increased vertical back swing, I use it only when the ball is low in the lie or in the pre-rough, to avoid/limit grass between ball and face otherwise I prefer a regular backswing in line with the target. Thanks you to have covered so many cases…. adjustement is the keyword here and you presented it so well. Brgds
