Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

  1. I dont watch golf nor do I play it. Genuinely dont even follow it. I do, however, know about Rory McIlroy. Im here because I saw a clip on IG of him winning and i wanted to see the full celebration. Seeing this kind of emotion is powerful and inspiring

  2. My congratulations to Rory as he patiently played tournaments over the years with anticipation of each Masters. Watched the last few minutes, forsaking baseball and softball which are my interests. BTW, used to play golf so I know the ups and downs that any golfer experiences.

  3. Not a golf guy so i genuinely dont know the anser to this, but is there a crowd reaction like this when others have won? This reminds me of wrestling how theyre cheering him on like this and its amazing to see. Congrats to you Rory this is looking like it will stand as a legendary moment in sports history

  4. While I'm obviously thrilled for Rory to finally vanquish his demons at Augusta, I am impressed by Justin Rose's grace to allow Rory that moment of joy even while he awaits his first major title. I hope Justin gets his moment of catharsis soon!

  5. Watched all DAY! CONGRATS RORY. I had no fingernails by thr end of this! Really wanted Bryson to win but rory definitely deserved it.

  6. The final round was a microcosm of Rory's career. He had his low moments and then high ones of great play. His problem has always been he allows the negative to take root in his play and to pull him out of victory. We saw him bounce back time after time in this round to stay the course – to remain measured. As others caved under pressure, Rory clawed his way back after a poor shot into the creek. Years past he would have phoned it in. This Sunday we saw the core of this man rise up and he played as the true professional he is. Rory earned this. Let this be a start of a new chapter in his career.

  7. I live 15 mins away from this fella and I am a fully grown adult male with tears running down my cheeks proud as punch of our wee country Norn Iron…Rory you let them tears stream fella! so well deserved and some of the best golf ive ever seen on any tour!! beautiful!!!

  8. Such a brilliant moment so the emotion and all the years of so many agonising close moments, what a player, what a strength of mind, pure class and no more deserving. All proud to be Irish today but what he has achieved is just brilliant for him and his family first and foremost.

  9. You deserve this Rory! Thrilling to watch you play ! Emotions were running high! …Oh and Poppy, well there are no words. What a little sweetheart!
