Surprised there isn't a 348 page rule about this being illegal
They used to do this all the time back in the day with the stymie.
If I was putting the defect would be as likely to correct my putt as deflect it.
Yeah, 2019 brought a lot of great new rules to golf. This will never happen again.
I would have just went "eh, I'm sure it'll be fine" then putt straight through it, miss it, then blame the stupid divot lol.
One way to get the short game stats up
This was an issue pre 2019 rule change, now that is fixable without need for official
Impressive
That 1 guy watching: WOOOAHHhhh
Yup. Fixable now. Change the divot rule and we’re good to go.
The real question is…. Did he fix it after holing out???
Foot scuf from Sergio Garcia
Yeah the tour pro's are unreal sometimes
He went retro
They used tonot mark balls on the green it was in your way, you chipped over it .many players in the old days were great at this
Crazy
Amazing camerawork
"Have you ever seen that before? " Apparently you never got to watch Sevi.Ballesteros… he made some shots from the green that made that look like amateur hour.
You can fix them now!
Jump shot
Thank god they changed this dumb rule
The asians after he makes it " woahhhhhhhhhhhhh"
wooah~~~ daebak!!!
Fire the cameraman
Who hasn’t seen that before
People should not be that impressed with this. Tour pros are world class, and even low single digit handicappers would struggle to make that stroke consistently. But these guys are not like us. They will make that shot 9.5 out of 10 tries, tournament or practice round.
That’s why they changed the rules now you can repair that
Thought we had gone back to the stymie rules of golf
Cameraman effing fail or at least the edit
Waste of time put it
It was often done years ago when the Tour had Stymies…
How tf is there an impression on a tour event green within reasonable proximity of hole? Someone out there stompin’
Never seen this b4? Really…Remember when you were mot allowed to mark your ball on the green and you had to chip over the ball in your way. Common Mr. Reporter…
So many options from 5 feet
Could he not use divot tool & beat that down? Xander does it EVERY put.
I was shook. I thought the commentator was saying he must be Depressed for having this thought process….
Old cup. The greens keeper should be ashamed. 1, for that shoddy job of repairing it, and 2 for putting that day's pin right next to it where it'll obviously cause a proble.. For what i assume is a tour event, thats inexcusable
They should stop filming these golf tournament vertically, I didn't see shit. /s
"Never seen this before" – Golf announcer who has never watched older golf highlights.
Used to not be able to mark a ball, and players would often have to chip over an opponents ball when close.
Legal but NOT the high% play
They have so many lame rules in golf, im surprised they let em use an iron on the green…
Why is this impressive sorry i dont know about golf can anyone explain Pls
I remember a long time ago Golf Channel had a clip of Sam Snead or Byron Nelson playing the same type of shot, except it was over another ball. From like 4-5 feet away . Professional Golfers are on a different level. Fun to watch.
you got your greens beautifully manicured, here in asia we had to use 3 woods just to putt par
That’s old school before you had ball markers. You had to mini chip over the other guys ball. Impressive!
soft mitts from JT
