the US Open always brings excitement to the game of golf but have we seen a better performance than what Tiger Woods did back in 2008 Tiger Woods the number one ranked player in the world and while he captured his 14th major win at Tor Pine’s Golf Club it didn’t come without adversity it was his first event since undergoing knee surgery after the Masters and he struggled through the tournament with pain often seen limping somehow tiger overcame the pain playing with a stress fracture in his leg to capture his third US Open title in a playoff duel with Roco mediate mediate was in the clubhouse after the final round with a one-hot lead but in typical tiger fashion he birdied 18 to set up the playoff the following day the two were still Square after the round but tiger went on to win in sudden death on the first hole Woods heroics pushed him to join Jack Nicholas as the only player to win the career Grand Slam three times over and it still goes down in history as one of his most iconic career wins
