Rory McIlroy produced a brilliant birdie-birdie finish to break home hearts and seal his second consecutive Rolex Series title at the Genesis Scottish Open.

The DP World Tour and PGA TOUR host the world’s best for a second year at The Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open. The Field is full of golf’s elite with Jon Rahm the only one in the top-10 choosing to miss this week before the year’s final major. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler will be teeing it up in Scotland this week. He’ll feel immensely confident coming into this one after claiming successes at the Phoenix Open in February and The PLAYERS Championship in March. Tied 12th on debut here in 2021 and finishing in the top-10 in the first three majors of the year, he’ll almost certainly be amongst it come Sunday. Rory McIlroy returns for his eighth appearance at Scotland’s national open. Since finishing in a tie for seventh at the US PGA Championship in May, he’s made the top-10 in his subsequent four starts, including finishing runner-up at last month’s U.S. Open. Xander Schauffele returns to defend his Genesis Scottish Open title. He’ll feel optimistic of his chances this week after hitting a bogey-free 62 to equal the lowest round at a Major at last months US Open. He’s also claimed top-20 finishes in each of his last nine starts. Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood will all be shooting for top spot in Scotland.

  3. Incredible finish from rors 2 3 on the last two holes unreal gotta feel a bit for macintyre but he'll definitely win big soon hes quality too but rors showed what the world's top players can do when they have to

  12. Poor Bobby Mac, thought he was going to get into a playoff but that 2 iron stinger Rory crushed on 18 was majestick, there was some serious torque on that swing and instead of hitting a hyflyer he just smashed his ironhead onto the fireball and cut a little ripper into the wind

  22. One of the best Finishes to a golf ⛳️ Tournament ive ever seen. So many clutch shots by McIntyre and Rory. For Rory to finish with 2 straight birdies on 17 and 18 in those Conditions was amazing. And Bob McIntyre looks legit, what a star young player

  23. That iron to 18 was a legendary shot…they’ll be replaying that at future Scottish Open coverage for decades.

  28. That approach shot at 18 was dynamic however I thought the extended delay prior to his closing putt made the shot exponentially more challenging, and yet….he got it done! Congrats Rory! Now, all you boys like Jordan, Jon, Scott, et al have to do is dump J.M.! Tell you what…if there is a merge between LIV and the Tour, I will switch to watching tennis, or something/anything else.

  33. I would have asked Rory, "How do keep a lid on the excitement & extra-curricular activities to focus for next week like you were today?" For how many times do we see winners miss the cut the following week…😢 Must be 90% mental & 9% tiredness & 1% nagging wife wants this & that😅

Great win Rory but i wouldn't be so quick in bagging out LIV Golf, i am old enough to remember when all we had was test cricket and many players didn't want to see that change or go ahead well now have a look we have the Americans playing it and guess what. its the best thing to happen giving many young players a chance plus plenty of money and we test cricket has never been better.Its time for a change.
