Justin Rose is coming off of back to back wins with his amazing golf swing.  He most recently won at the Turkish Airlines Open with a four round score of 18 under par.  His golf swing remains one of the most technically proficient on tour and it also provides an excellent model for the takeaway.  This video and article will use Justin’s swing to show you 3 keys to help you improve your takeaway.

  1. I look the exact same way as Rose does in my back swing. Where I get lost is on the downswing. He keeps his head still and behind the ball but on the downswing but still shifts his weight. I tend to sway at times and get ahead of the ball and will hit a block. I'm a 7 handicap and really want to get better.

  2. This video doesn’t reveal anything about the swing, why not include reasons why certain positions are important. And oh yea, be a little less boring

  3. People waste so much time worrying about the takeaway. It's essentially irrelevant. As long as you deliver the club into impact correctly everything else leading up to that doesn't matter. There's 100 different examples of unique takeaways on tour, but they all deliver the club back properly.

  4. agree completely with this. feeling like the right palm is pushing down in the takeaway (getting early hinge and keeping the hands nice and low) just works. 👍
