The PGA TOUR heads to Detroit, Michigan, this week for the fifth installment of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. Last year’s champion Tony Finau returns to defend his record-setting title. Finau finished with a score of 26-under-par to break the tournament scoring record by three shots, posting just one bogey on the week. He’ll be accompanied by an in-form Rickie Fowler in the field. He’s finished inside the top-13 in his last four events, including a T5 finish at the U.S. Open, setting the U.S. Open single-round scoring record in round one. Justin Thomas will also be teeing it up this week in Detroit. He snapped back into form at the Travelers Championship after achieving his first top-10 since mid-March at the Valspar Championship. Only winner Keegan Bradley made more birdies at the Travelers, as he closed with a 64-62-67 in his final three rounds. Tom Kim will also like his chances this week after he finished T8 at the U.S. Open in Los Angeles. Turning 21 years old last week in Connecticut, he posted rounds of 64 and 65 to finish T38. The Korean debuted here last summer and matched the course record (63) on Sunday to finish solo seventh. Max Homa, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa and Keegan Bradley will also be shooting for top spot in Detroit.

  6. WTG Ricky! You had me worried on that first playoff hole, but you made an amazing 2nd shot from the rough! Well deserved! Your Daughter is so adorable! Beautiful family!

  7. Nice to see Rikki win, but the shot from the rough on 15 was hard to do, and it was a right to left slice, but a beautiful victory to witness- maybe a beautiful family to know about how one is able openly to show how he birdied 17 to win by 3.

  15. Annnnnd…Ricky pulls it off in a nail biting playoff!!! So happy for Ricky, and I felt a victory coming his way. That back nine.. I began to wonder if he could hang on the way Colin was playing, but that shot on 18, wow, a birdie to tie and then to finish it after a slicey drive. Eleven foot plus putt and the crowd goes nuts. No disrespect to Hadwin, and he put up a good game, but Colin Morikawa seemed Extremely focused and was playing his best round in awhile. Good stuff!

  16. Amazing shot out of the rough after that unfortunate tee shot, great recovery and nerves of steel to putt that in for birdie.
