In a three-man playoff at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic with Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin, Rickie Fowler makes birdie on the par-4 18th, the first extra hole, for his sixth career win on the PGA TOUR and first since the 2019 WM Phoenix Open.

The PGA TOUR heads to Detroit, Michigan, this week for the fifth installment of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. Last year’s champion Tony Finau returns to defend his record-setting title. Finau finished with a score of 26-under-par to break the tournament scoring record by three shots, posting just one bogey on the week. He’ll be accompanied by an in-form Rickie Fowler in the field. He’s finished inside the top-13 in his last four events, including a T5 finish at the U.S. Open, setting the U.S. Open single-round scoring record in round one. Justin Thomas will also be teeing it up this week in Detroit. He snapped back into form at the Travelers Championship after achieving his first top-10 since mid-March at the Valspar Championship. Only winner Keegan Bradley made more birdies at the Travelers, as he closed with a 64-62-67 in his final three rounds. Tom Kim will also like his chances this week after he finished T8 at the U.S. Open in Los Angeles. Turning 21 years old last week in Connecticut, he posted rounds of 64 and 65 to finish T38. The Korean debuted here last summer and matched the course record (63) on Sunday to finish solo seventh. Max Homa, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa and Keegan Bradley will also be shooting for top spot in Detroit.

  1. Great to see Captain Cool back in the winner's circle. The PGA really needs a guy like Rickie to compete for titles inc. majors. Most of the tour personalities are so blase'

  2. As well as he's playing right now I wouldn't be surprised to see him win another one this year. He's got every part of the game going.

  3. Great to see him growing and maturing as a player, father, and a man. He has been knocking since April I am glad to see his hard work paying off.

  4. That is the most Rickie Fowler expression as it gets. I am so happy for this guy. He was one of my faves when he joined the Tour.

    As the meme goes:
    And everyone loved this

  5. One of the most cathartic sighs of all time!

Couldn’t be happier for that dude!

  6. How awesome is this? It is just so right that Rickey wins the tourney he sponsors along with Quicken. It figures that tv completely botched today's telecast. Right now, it's 5:31 and I'm watching CBS, Fowler is teeing off on 18 and down a shot. I saw this on Golf Channel at 1:50. I've watched him struggle for 3 years, coming so close lately, no cigar. Today, on my high school's home course, in my favorite tourney other than the Big 5, and the tv coverage has been the worst ever. And so it goes…

  7. And his caddy spoils his moment of sublime victory by jumping all over him like an over zealous puppy dog greeting his owner who just came home after a long time away.

  8. It was like watching a movie from
Holywood 😂 It couldn't get better than this!

  9. Gosh dang it, thanks for spoiling the result PGA Tour! Looks like I won't be watching the full replay today…..
