My theory here: spieth has always played with a weak left hand grip and bowed left wrist. As someone who does the same thing, it’s extremely easy to go wide on the backswing but come in too wide on the downswing as well. This is mostly due to the left wrist supination being more difficult to maintain the more your right arm is bent. To get an idea of this, try to mimic Dustin Johnson’s position at the top of the backswing while keeping your left arm completely straight, it’s not possible unless you have a rare gift in flexibility.
Back to what I was saying about spieth, I feel like this drill is to mitigate going “wide-to-wide” as I would call it and casting, ending up in a similar position at impact as at address. He’s trying to get more narrow on the downswing while maintaining what he does naturally as far as grip and wrist flexion
Looks like he’s trying to get steeper at impact while staying shallow in transition. Shallow is great, but you gotta get steep at impact or you’re gonna struggle with strike and a two way miss. Seems like he’s successful so far with it because he’s gone to a fade off the tee. He used to play draws, and draws when they go awry lead to the two way miss.
Would love to hear whats actually going through his head during the routine. Fun listening to the guys try to explain their takes. And reading others here. All I know is everyone wants him back at the top
Why, why can’t he just be the 16 year old kid who competed in a pro tournament. The guy at 19 won a pga event. The guy that swing won three majors and should have been four but everyone makes a mistake. That guy didn’t think about all this mechanical stuff and just looked at the target , figured the distance and wind and swung the club and won tournaments. That guy was and is great. Just go find him and be him again. U r just that good. Believe it again!
This guy has a little lack of concentration that will affect his gameplay if he doesn’t correct it. Telling people “to Make silence” in some of his recent tour games shows lack of self confidence . Or do we see other top performers doing the same ?
Jordan's clearly very talented but with his resources, these are the moves he's making in his swing? Just my opinion but weight training could do more for his swing, especially leg workouts, his footwork is awful but his short game & streaky putter save him during weeks high on the leaderboard.

Not sure, but that bent left elbow is exactly what he had in 2015 – this can only be a good thing 😉
I also think that his short visit with Butch last fall was instrumental to getting back on the right track with his swing.

0:21 He does a Charles Barkley imitation and 4 announcers are going bonkers analyzing it for the next 40 minutes…..😂
stuck, should find a better instructor that knows what he/she does
good luck with that btw 🙂
It is interesting that you are trying to observe how they are hitting the ball and all you see is text across the bottom of the screen.

Looks weird. He is searching for a certain feel.
this video is for handicap 10 and below. I cannot see anything different.
I think, on the contrary, he is exaggerating the error to emphasize the contrary feeling

Looks like he has forgotten to make a good rotation up top, his back to target and a good straight left arm at parallel.
Lol wipes his club after every shot
Golf is such a hard game, even the best are constantly tinkering

Just making sure to not create any extension.
It looks like he rolls his arms and opens the club face in the backswing now. His club face used to stare the ball for so long
whats that little "machine" in front of him?
これ!下回りスイングじゃね??
This looks embarrassing terrible
Looks like inside over the top
