  1. Greensboro open, early 90s.
    Par5
250 yds to a downslope, that led to a creek at 300 yards.
Everybody laid up to the top of the hill.
    Daly flew the creek.

  2. If Daly had been somebody who had some discipline in his life and really worked hard at golf and had course management he could have won 5-6 more majors and 20 or more tournaments. He had the ability to start every round out 4 under with his length. With great talent comes great responsibility and he just didn't appreciate what he had.

  3. A great guy with great talent
His career could have been huge if he would have exercised a little more self-discipline along the way

  4. Throw in a little self discipline and no one is talking about Tiger, Jack, Arnie, etc., plain and simple, the natural talent to be the GOAT… but hand me a beer…

  5. I watched Big John at Muirfield Dublin Ohio a few years ago. Amazing and fun to watch. He looks at the shot pulls a club and hits it.

  6. If only he had a better attitude….it would've been him vs tiger…what a show we were deprived of.

  7. If the ball didn’t bounce like that, it would’ve been over the green that was the shot he hit. There was nothing fortunate about it.

  8. If John Daily really took golf seriously he could have been one of the best. But he did it his way and had the best time.

  9. JD! The people's champ because he was & is a normal dude who just in his own words "hit it hard". The 30 for 30 documentary on him is actually really good.

  10. 33rd place, so much talent…lol. Talent for chugging 15 diet cokes and smoking 2 packs a day was John's greatest talent

  11. all that and he didn't win, it's not how far you can hit the ball it's how many times you hit the fairways and the greens on regulation…Daily tied for 33rd place, ….
